Kevin Michael Richardson Super Shredder Audition Tape

Even if you don’t know the name Kevin Michael Richardson, chances are that you’ve heard his voice at some point in the last few decades. Richardson has worked on classic animated series such as Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, Dexter’s Laboratory and more. He’s a legend in this industry, and he’s spent the last few years portraying everyone’s favorite villain in Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. When the time came to change his voice ever so slightly for Shredder’s upcoming mutation, Kevin was asked to give the following reading.
Alright, so this isn’t a serious reading, but it’s still a funny little video. At the time they recorded this Super Shredder audition tape, chances are that Richardson already had the job. That being said, it is very humorous to hear him going through all of these different voices, as it gives you a sense for what each character would sound like if they attempted to portray the Shredder. In particular, I absolutely adored his imitation of Samuel L. Jackson, because it was pretty much dead on. All told, he provided at least a dozen or so voices during this video, and they were all quite excellent.
It’s not every day that you get to see a legend like this showing off his talents just for fun. If you want to hear just how good Kevin Michael Richardson is when it comes to voice acting, this Super Shredder audition tape is a must watch. You can expect to hear him take on the role of Super Shredder in Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles when the next episode airs on November 6th. No matter what happens in that episode, you know that you’re in for some excellent voice acting when you’ve got Richardson on the job!
