It looks like we’re already beginning to see some review copies of this TMNT cookbook out in the wild. Earlier today, Mashable shared some new images from the book revealing new recipes to curious audiences. In their article – which we highly recommend that you read for yourself – they discussed one of the most disturbing recipes in the pizza cookbook. Needless to say, a Chocolate-Chili Pepper Pizza with Butternut Squash is far from normal.
Something tells me that most fans are going to be immediately reminded of the creative topping choices that Mikey came up with in the original animated series. Although it’s nice to know that there are some normal recipes in this TMNT cookbook, I doubt shellheads would be happy with this product unless it included at least a few strange pizzas. We’ve already shared a few of these recipes ourselves, but this one may in fact prove even more outrageous than anything else we’ve seen thus far.
A few weeks ago, The Daily Dot also shared another recipe from this awesome TMNT cookbook. Surprisingly, this isn’t actually a pizza recipe, but it does look pretty darn tasty. If you’re looking for something a bit healthier, a pesto pizza pocket might just hit the spot! It’s nice to see that they have decided to include ideas for people who can’t necessarily eat pizza all the time (or just wouldn’t want to), because this could open the book up to an entirely new market.
Who knows? Maybe we’ll discover a surprisingly good pizza and/or snacks among these oddball recipes! Whatever the case may be, I personally can’t wait to finally check out this TMNT cookbook. Thankfully, we don’t have much longer to wait, as the book will be released on May 9th. With a release date less than a month away, we recommend pre-ordering your copy ASAP. At a price of less than $20, it’s already quite affordable.
But hey, maybe you don’t even need a cookbook to create some awesome and interesting pizza recipes. I don’t know about you, but I used to make my own pizzas from time to time, and I came up with some interesting topping combinations. For instance, have you ever tried tuna as a topping? It’s essentially like eating a tuna melt pizza, and it’s pretty darn good! If you have any strange or curious pizza recipes that might please fans of our heroes in a half shell, feel free to share them with us in the comments below.
y’know i’m not sure why but i’ve never actually made my own pizza! i always get pizza hut or go to a local pizza place. However, i am known for having several unique macaroni and cheese combinations!
Totally unrelated, you going to Indy Comic Con?
there’s an Indy comic con!? when!? i live 2 hours from Indy so i prolly could!
This weekend. Friday – Sunday. Not much TMNT related unfortunately. Sean Astin cancelled. And last year Paulsen cancelled, so I am Raph-less two years in a row! boo! But there’s lots of other guests and panels!
oh ok. im busy this weekend. too bad all the turtle stuff keeps getting cancelled!!! that would be awesome!!! i will try for next year tho!!!
