Clever Music Video Featuring Retro Ninja Turtles Toys

by Justin W

Retro Ninja Turtles Toys? What?? It’s not every day that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles make an appearance in a music video. When they do, the results are usually either excellent or questionable, but this time they’ve really hit the scene in a memorable way. Perhaps it’s more fair to say that there’s something incredibly nostalgic about this entire video, as it not only delivers an excellent cover of the classic song “Next to You” from The Police, but it also features a collection of classic toys from the 80’s – including a lot of original TMNT toys from Playmates. The toys are truly Retro Ninja Turtles Toys.

As a matter of fact, the retro Ninja Turtles toys actually have a pretty large role to play in the story of this music video. What this all has to do with the cover of Next to You performed by The Noise FM is beyond me, but I guess if you’re going to release your own version of a classic punk song, you might as well make the video as much of a nostalgia trip as possible. In addition to the turtles, this video also features a lot of classic toys from several other toy lines that came out of the 80’s and a few from the 90’s. Oh, and it’s pretty clever that they had a policeman playing the drums with Sting (the wrestler) singing the song.

To be honest, it’s been a while since I’ve seen a music video with a story this fun and entertaining. It’s nice to see these retro TMNT toys getting so much love in a truly memorable music video, even if they only show up in a few scenes. If you remember being a child of the 80’s or 90’s and making up crazy stories like this with your TMNT toys, feel free to relive your greatest memories in the comments and share this awesome video with friends and family via Facebook or Twitter.
