Roughly a week after releasing information about their upcoming Casey Jones figure, DreamEX has announced plans for a Shredder figure as well. This announcement comes shortly after First Gokin unveiled their plans for an Oraku Saki figure, which is definitely questionable timing. That being said, First Gokin’s Ninja Turtles collectibles are noted for being imports that are not officially licensed, while DreamEX is licensed by Viacom. Whereas one company has to give their product a slightly different name and appearance, the other can give Master Shredder both his proper name and his likeness.

Unlike First Gokin, it would appear that DreamEX has obtained the proper license to develop this Shredder figure. Image source: DreamEX.
As you can probably tell, this Shredder figure is based on the villain’s appearance in the original 1987 animated series. One look at that purple cape is all you need to see in order to understand what DreamEX was going for with this collectible. In addition to the cape, Oroku Saki is also sporting his characteristic armor. Although his clothing and armor are clearly based on the animated series, it would appear that his face may actually be based on the original comics. Whatever the case may be, it’s safe to say that this is a really nice take on the shredhead.
Unlike with the First Gokin figure, Master Shredder’s helmet and face mask can actually be removed with this collectible. In addition to that nice little feature, the new Shredder figure from DreamEX also includes a few interesting accessories. Perhaps the most notable accessory is the handheld communication device that Shredder uses to speak with Krang in the original animated series. I don’t think we’ve ever seen this included with any previous Ninja Turtles toys, so it’s pretty cool to see it in Oroku Saki’s hands. As if that weren’t cool enough, this Shredder action figure also comes with two ninja stars and a canister of ooze from TCRI.

This Shredder Figure will come with several additional features and accessories. Image Source: DreamEX.
DreamEX will also be providing no less than five different hands for their Shredder figure to use, allowing for a variety of posing possibilities. If you thought their Casey Jones figure looked cool, this has got to be even more impressive. Unfortunately, we have yet to discover anything else about this Shredder collectible. As with the Casey Jones collectible, we’ll be sure to let you know when DreamEX unveils more information about the release date and pricing for these awesome Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures.
