Nickelodeon Reveals Plans For SDCC 2017 TMNT Panel

Over the past several years, Nickelodeon has revealed several vital details about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles during their San Diego Comic-con panels. Although this will be the last year that they will be focusing on the 2k12 series, something tells me that shellheads won’t want to miss the event. Nick has unveiled their plans for SDCC 2017, and this panel is already looking like a lot of fun. With several notable guests on hand and the very real potential to learn more about Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, fans can anticipate at least a few bombshells (or should we say turtle shells?) to drop in just a few weeks.

According to Nickelodeon’s press release, the SDCC 2017 TMNT Panel will include the following guest appearances:

  • Kevin Eastman
  • Stan Sakai
  • Ciro Nieli
  • Rob Paulsen
  • Sean Astin
  • Greg Cipes
  • Eric Bauza

The panel will be moderated once again by Andre Meadows (Black Nerd Comedy). He has become fairly good friends with the cast of this show, and he’s proven himself to be a pretty good moderator when it comes to these types of discussions. Needless to say, Kevin Eastman and Stan Sakai represent perhaps the two biggest names on that list. Given that this event will take place on July 21st, it makes perfect sense to have these two creative geniuses promote the Usagi Yojimbo/TMNT crossover episodes which are scheduled to begin airing on July 23rd.

Sean Astin is another guest on this list who doesn’t always have the time to make an appearance. He does his best, but Astin often has a lot of additional obligations to factor in before agreeing to appear at these events. When it comes to everyone else, we can usually count on Ciro Nieli, Rob Paulsen, Greg Cipes and Eric Bauza to show up for each SDCC panel. That being said, it’s worth noting that SDCC 2017 may be the last time we see this much of the cast together in the same room, as Nickelodeon might decide to hire an entirely different cast for Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

According to Greg Cipes, he might have a role to play in the new series, but we haven’t received confirmation of that just yet. Who knows? Maybe they will take this opportunity to announce that Rob Paulsen, Sean Astin, Seth Green and Greg Cipes will be reprising their roles for the new series! I doubt I’m the only shellhead who wants to see that become a reality, but we should be prepared for the possibility that Rise will feature an entirely different cast. With that in mind, you might want to tune in and check out the last SDCC panel for Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

If you plan on going to SDCC 2017, make sure to check out Nick’s Customized T-shirt Station for special TMNT shirts. Ciro Nieli and the boys will also be signing autographs for fans, and the turtles themselves will make an appearance at the Nickelodeon booth. There’ll be plenty of turtley awesome fun at San Diego Comic-con this year, and I’m sure I speak for most fans when saying that I can’t wait to find out everything that will be revealed at this panel.

I wont be able to make it this year but i really want to go next year or the year after. Don’t the tickets usually sell out really fast? do you have to buy tickets to certain events within the convention? I’m a total newbie so I would love some tips.

I just hope they announce something very epic for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Something like an animated crossover where the current 2k12 Turtles meet the 2k3 Turtles from the 2003 cartoon series. If they announce something like that, then I would be very ecstatic I could jump into a swimming pool.
