Turtley Awesome Videos: Let’s Boogie!

by Justin W

Every now and then, we like to give some focus to creative and interesting videos that TMNT fans will love. Heck, most of the time these videos are made by the fans themselves, and they are usually pretty radical. Since it’s been a while, let’s take Mikey’s frequent advice and boogie!

To start off this dance party, let’s listen to the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme in a way that we’ve never heard it before: On Ukulele! Youtube user Sergio Elisondo took it upon himself to play everyone’s favorite Ninja Turtles tune on one of the most unique instruments in the world.

If this Hawaiian instrument isn’t your style, perhaps you’d be more interested in hearing some Japanese hip hop? Although many of you have probably heard the theme from the 2014 movie, I’m willing to bet that you haven’t heard it in a different language. Even if you can’t understand the language, you might just find yourself enjoying this rendition from RIP SLYME a little more than the American version!

Speaking of awesome Asian tunes, have you ever wondered what the Ninja Turtles would look like if they tried to do the Gangnam Style dance? Well, believe it or not, even this odd curiosity has been answered. With an introduction from Vanilla Ice himself, this video shows the turtles going around a city and dancing to Psy’s international sensation. At the very least, it’s amusing to see four guys in turtle suits dancing like goofballs wherever they go!

Now that we’ve had a chance to boogie down with the turtles, it’s time to chow down on some TMNT inspired food! To start us off, let’s learn how to make some Ninja Turtle pancakes. While this fan video might not offer the most in depth recipe, it does offer a lot of creative ideas for adding some Turtle Power to your breakfast. Who cares if it’s a little sloppy, it still looks tasty!

Of course, if that’s not the kind of TMNT pancake you want to make, there are other methods for bringing our heroes in a half shell to your plate. Here’s a pancake artist making a much more accurate Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles pancake.

If pancakes aren’t your style, perhaps real cakes will do the trick! Youtuber Rosanna Pansino went to the trouble of making some pretty intricate TMNT Cake pops, and she also shows you exactly how to make your own. In addition to making all four turtles, she also made Pizza Cake pops that look so good even Mikey would want to try them.

Finally, let’s finish off our Ninja Turtle fun with something that has been fun for several generations: LEGO! If you’ve seen The Lego Movie, chances are that you noticed the Lego version of Michelangelo hanging out in a few scenes. As cool as it was to see him on the big screen, wouldn’t it be awesome to see an entire TMNT Lego series?

Well, one fan thought it might be interesting, and they put together this video which takes audio from an episode of Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series and re-creates the action from that scene in Lego form! Needless to say, the results were pretty awesome.

I don’t know about you, but all of these turtley awesome videos have me tuckered out. That being said, if you’ve got a radical TMNT video that you want to share with the world, drop us a line and let us know about it. Who knows? We might even put it in the video section of our fan zone!
