For those who aren’t aware, Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has an amazing cast of voice actors. One of the most famous actors they have on board is none other than Sean Astin, a name that should be familiar to fans of films like The Goonies and Lord of the Rings. Astin likes to keep busy, and he has even missed a few conventions in the past simply because he was working on another project at the time. It would appear that this won’t be changing anytime soon, as it was recently announced that he will be starring in a popular new Netflix series.
Stranger Things was added to Netflix earlier this year to very little fanfare at first, but eventually the entire world began talking about this incredible new television series. Set in the 1980’s, this dark and mysterious show was rife with nostalgia and everything nerdy. Heck, they started out the adventure by playing a game of Dungeons & Dragons! With so many references to the pop culture of that era, it’s only fitting that they would have Sean Astin join the cast for the second season.According to various reports, Astin will be playing a character named Bob Newby. Bob is apparently a kind-hearted nerd who went to high school with some of the main characters in the series and currently works at a Radio Shack in town. Given the very odd occurrences that took place in the first season, chances are that Newby will have quite the role to fill in Stranger Things. I don’t know about you, but I’m personally hoping that they find a way to throw in a reference to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Heck, even if it’s just him reading a copy of the comic book, that would still be pretty cool.
Whatever ends up happening in the second season of Stranger Things, it’s nice to see that Sean Astin will have a starring role in the series.

YES! YES! I never wanted to watch Stranger Things even though my friend’s weren’t into it, BUT NOW I HAVE A REASON TO! SEAN ASTIN AS THE HOTHEAD IS GREAT!
I hope they have him say something about a turtle. Or read a comic book. Or hum the theme song for the 2012 series.
Awesome! I’ve heard really good things about that show. I’ll probably watch it now!
