If you consider yourself a true Turtles fan, be prepared to order an extra large pizza with your craziest Michelangelo-style toppings, put on your favorite TMNT shirt, and crack open a comic book because March 19 is the official Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Day.
I found something fun while reading the TMNT: Ultimate Visual History. It was a neat pamphlet proclamation describing an apparent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Day, as designated by the City of Los Angeles. Now, technically, the holiday was on March 19, 1993, commemorating the release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III live action movie. But, we are happy to recognize March 19 as the annual Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Day. According to his blog, TMNT Co-Creator, Peter Laird, mentions the original proclamation was signed by Los Angeles Mayor, Tom Bradley, and says the holiday correlated with the world premiere screening, where proceeds were going to several charities.
It is pretty cool to think the Turtles were so popular that a major U.S. city decided to make a holiday. We would love to see what you are doing for the festivities! Please send us pictures of your favorite TMNT gear, favorite pizza topping, and anything else TMNT-related to our Twitter @TMNT_Fansite or to our Facebook Page!

A holiday that is committed to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? No wonder Nickelodeon is skipping new episodes this week
Another day to wear green right after St. Patrick’s day 🙂
