Casey Jones Fights the Foot In Behind the Scenes Featurette

by Justin W

There’s actually a lot more going on here than just some Casey Jones action from the set of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. That being said, the choreography on display in this scene is truly awesome, and Stephen Amell is looking pretty good as Casey in the short clip. As we see him kicking some Foot Soldier butt, he discusses his role in the film and explains that he’ll be using more than just his hockey stick to get things done. We don’t know what he is referencing yet, but it will be interesting to see what kind of weapons Casey ends up with in the final product.

As if that weren’t enough, the featurette also includes Megan Fox talking about her feelings in regards to the sequel. She described the movie as such:

“They hired a director [Dave Green] who is a superfan of the turtles, they figured out the tone of the movie should be funny. This isn’t like turtles in Gotham City, that’s the wrong way to take it.”

While some fans would argue that the turtles need to be darker in tone, the reality is that most TMNT fans fell in love with the franchise because it was fun and goofy, so it’s probably for the best that they took a different approach with this sequel.

In addition to this discussion, Pete Ploszek (the man behind Leonardo) talked about his favorite moments in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows:

“I’m most excited to see the quieter moments between us as brothers, and just really see us going at it.”

Of course, then Alan Ritchson interjected with what appeared to be a joke, but who knows? Maybe he was being entirely honest and spoiled the entire movie for everyone. Thanks, Raph!

All kidding aside, this featurette was more revealing than it had any right to be. One of the major complaints about the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie was the fact that we didn’t get to see the turtles spend much time just being themselves. The elevator scene was one of the most popular in the film for a reason, and it would be nice to see a lot more quiet and fun moments with our favorite heroes in a half-shell.
