Funko Announces Limited Edition Casey Jones Pop Vinyl

Pop Vinyls are one of those love it or hate it collectibles. Some collectors think they are cheap and overpriced, while others love their cute and simplistic design. Regardless of which side of the fence you find yourself on, you might just be interested to hear that Funko has announced an exclusive Casey Jones figure for their Pop Vinyl line. At first glance, it doesn’t have the appearance of something exclusive, but this is actually a limited edition collectible. Heck, it’s so limited that we don’t even know all of the retailers that will be selling the item!

That little detail is what makes this Casey Jones figure so intriguing. Funko has decided to provide this collectible only to qualified retailers as part of their Specialty Series. The Specialty Series rewards loyal retail stores for selling their merchandise, so it’s probably a good bet that you’ll find this Casey Jones Pop Vinyl where other Funko items are sold. That being said, there are no guarantees and this definitely isn’t going to be available everywhere. Thankfully, there will be one way to tell whether or not your collectible is the real deal: The sticker on the front.

I don’t know if it’s entirely legible in the image above, but the sticker on the front of this package makes it clear that this is from the Funko Specialty Series. This will definitely help collectors to determine whether or not they’ve got the real deal. Considering how popular the vigilante is, something tells me that this exclusive Casey Jones Pop Vinyl is going to be a big seller. Unfortunately, we don’t yet know how many figures Funko plans to produce or where they will be sold. As of yet, only a few retailers are offering this figure for pre-order, and we don’t know exactly when you can expect to find it on store shelves.

TMNT Stackable Mystery Figures Now Available From Playmates

There have been a lot of Ninja Turtles blind box toys brought to market over the past few years, so this latest product from Playmates Toys shouldn’t be a surprise. This time around, they’ve chosen to create a line of TMNT Stackable Mystery Figures. Each vinyl figure has a peg that allows you to stack another figure on top. As if that weren’t awesome enough, each character featured in this line has a unique and fun design that will make you want to stack as many as possible! If you’ve ever wanted a TMNT totem pole, now you can create your own with these latest blind box TMNT toys.

One of our favorite toy reviewers, Pixel Dan, has already provided a review for this product. He was able to find six boxes available for purchase at Target, so it’s safe to say that Playmates is in the process of rolling these TMNT Stackable Mystery Figures out to stores. You can expect to pay the typical price of about $5-$10 per box, which is actually a pretty decent price for specialized TMNT merchandise. In this case, the toys in question are very well detailed and a bit bigger than some of the other vinyl TMNT figures on the market.

Although the odds for obtaining each figure aren’t outrageous, it is worth pointing out that Donatello is apparently just as difficult to obtain as the chase figure. I guess when you consider the kind of sculpt that they went with for Donny, it makes sense that he would cost a bit more to produce and thus be a bit harder to find. Although these TMNT Stackable Mystery Figures may not be the most amazing toy line you’ve ever seen, the paint details and fun sculpts are what set the series apart from similar items on the market. If you have limited shelf space, but you still want to show some love for the boys in green, consider these stackable TMNT toys!

New Kidrobot TMNT Vinyl Blind Boxes Coming Soon

These blind box Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles vinyl toys must be selling well, because we’re starting to see all of the major companies with the Ninja Turtles license producing a new series for each line. Just last week we announced that there would be a new line from both Minimates and The Loyal Subjects, and now we can announce that Kidrobot will be producing another line of TMNT vinyls themselves. This series in particular is sure to be more popular with retro fans of the franchise, as it includes a bunch of characters that don’t often get much attention anymore.

As you can see in the image above, the latest series of Kidrobot TMNT vinyl blind boxes will include memorable faces such as Ace Duck, Mutagen Man, Sergeant Bananas, Rahzar and Tokka. These are characters that often get forgotten or snubbed in the world of toys and action figures, so it’s nice to see them get some representation in this line of blind box vinyls. To be honest, when I saw a new Ace Duck figure was on the way, I was absolutely shocked. Then I noticed two faces from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze. Oh, and has anyone noticed that shadowy figure on the left hand side? That’s a chase figure (more difficult to find) of Metalhead.

This line of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles vinyl figures looks to be chock full of nostalgia, which is sure to draw in a lot of older fans. Much like the other blind box vinyls you will find, these figures are highly detailed and feature a uniquely stylized design. Kidrobot vinyls typically don’t have as many points of articulation as you will find on other TMNT toys and figures, but they look pretty nice and serve as an excellent display piece. I don’t know about you, but I’m definitely interested in that Ace Duck vinyl!

Unfortunately, these mock images are all we have to go by as of yet. The plan will apparently be to release this series of Kidrobot TMNT vinyls alongside Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows this summer, so keep an eye out at your local comic book shop for these awesome TMNT blind boxes.

Wave 2 of Loyal Subjects TMNT Vinyls Now Available

The Loyal Subjects has made a name for themselves by producing several lines of high quality vinyl figures. Last year, they unveiled their first line of TMNT vinyls, and fans were more than a little pleased. Not only were the designs unique and interesting, but unlike over vinyl figures, they were very easy to pose and play with. The line was so popular that they decided to do a second wave, which just recently became available for sale on their website. At a price tag of $13.99 per figure, it may seem like these 3.25″ TMNT toys are a little costly, but trust us when we say that these are high quality items.

Included as part of the second wave are variations of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles alongside a few new villains. Perhaps most notably, two of the newest enemies added to the bunch are Slash and Leatherhead. Okay, so they aren’t actually enemies in the new Nickelodeon series, but it’s still nice to see them in this wave of TMNT vinyls. In addition to these fan favorites, you can also expect to find Bebop and Rocksteady, who both have some fairly stylistic designs. A variation of Splinter, Shredder and the Foot Ninja have also been included, each designed to look a little more like their counterparts in the original animated series.

Yes, figures from The Loyal Subjects are a bit pricier than other vinyls, but you get a lot more bang for your buck as well. Although they are currently only available via blind boxes, there are already listings in the store for combo packs including either Bebop and Rocksteady, Leatherhead and Slash, or all four Ninja Turtles. These alternative releases are not yet available, but they should be shipping sometime this spring. If you can’t wait that long to get your hands on these awesome TMNT vinyls, at least you can pick up some blind boxes right now!

The Loyal Subjects Unveils 8″ Leonardo Vinyl Figures

After a successful run of 3.2” Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles vinyl figures, it would appear that The Loyal Subjects have decided to take a chance on some much bigger TMNT toys. To start things off, they have unveiled an 8” variant of their Battle Damaged Leonardo figure. The figure is more than twice the size of the previous models and requires more materials to build, so it comes with a heftier price tag as well.

At a price of $55, they have crafted a Leonardo vinyl figure modeled after their Comic-con exclusive Battle Damage line, which is based on the original comic book series from IDW. Sadly, the original set is now out of print, but it must have been pretty popular if they are now running with it for their first 8” TMNT vinyl toy. With 9 points of articulation, you’ll be able to recreate your favorite moments from the comics in style. As if that weren’t cool enough, they’ve also decided to make a variant specifically for fans of the cartoon series.

Utilizing essentially the same build, the 8” Metallic Leonardo figure features a metallic paint coat instead of the traditional black and white model. This time, Leo is sporting his classic blue face mask from the animated series. Thanks to the new coat of paint, this figure will cost a bit more with a price tag of $56. If Metallic Leo isn’t your style, they’ve also got a basic variant based on Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. Basically, if you’re a fan of Leonardo, The Loyal Subjects has got you covered.

Each figure comes in a windowbox with an insert card, so you can either leave them in the packaging or take them out for display. Personally, I’d prefer to display my TMNT vinyl figures, but that’s just me. After all, these are limited edition vinyls, so they will probably be worth a lot of money on the collector’s market.
