Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot has been one of the most pleasant surprises in the history of the franchise, creating an entirely new fan base while managing to keep the original base of fans happy. The first season has been quite a ride and it would appear that we’re in for more shell raising action in Season 2. In addition to a return of the original Ninja Turtles gang for a special episode, it was recently confirmed that the next season of Nick’s TMNT will feature one of the most unforgettable characters in the history of the show: Casey Jones!
Not much is known about when Jones will appear in the show or for how many episodes, but it’s clear that the creators of the show haven’t forgotten about him. At this year’s San Diego Comic Con, Nickelodeon will be holding a special Q&A session about their show Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on July 19th. It would seem that we’ll find out more about his role in the show at this event, since Nick will also be selling a limited edition poster of the vigilante hero at their booth this year. In the poster, we can get a sense for how Jones might look in the cartoon, and he definitely looks very awesome.
As for who will be voicing the character, it has been announced that Josh Peck will be playing the role of Casey Jones. You may remember Peck from his starring role in one of Nickelodeon’s older shows, Drake & Josh. He’s definitely a great actor, so it’s good to see him getting more work, especially with such a great new show. Perhaps he will use his comedic chops to give Jones the appropriate cocky attitude? Either way, it’s great to see him back at it and it’s definitely good news to see the people behind this TMNT show bringing back some of our favorite characters.
There might not be much more information about the appearance of Casey Jones yet, but at least it’s comforting to see that this show is really coming together. As it brings both young and old fans together in solidarity, Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon continues the legacy of our beloved heroes in a half shell with honor. Will Casey Jones appear in the 2012 series or just in the same cartoon where he appeared? Because if Casey will appear in the TMNT 2012 series, I am actually not happy about it. 🙁 Why?
DUH! Donnie is in love with April and I can totally felt it in my gut that Casey is gonna win this competition.
Please, please, please! Tell me that Casey Jones will appear in the same cartoon of TMNT as before!
The only thing that I’m excited from this new show is I want to know what Casey really looked like and observe his personality (literally). And, of course, I had never seen him from the other series of TMNT.

I agree though, poor Donnie, April will be swept away. But TMNT needs Casey Jones and I hope he comes into the show they way he did in the movies.

I only watched 2 series of TMNT. “Fast Forward” and the 2012 series. I actually never knew or watch the original TMNT. SORRY!
