I know you’re all turtles fans, but how many of you love professional racing as well? If you’re fans of both, you’ll be glad to hear that Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be making an appearance on some of the most notable cars in the NASCAR lineup. On October 13th, Jeff Gordon and Ryan Newman will be driving the two turtle-y awesome cars at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Gordon’s car will feature Leonardo, while Newman’s car will have Raphael. So why are they rolling out such awesome paint schemes for this race? Well, Nickelodeon’s Helping and Leading Others program is working in coordination with Jeff Gordon, AARP, AARP Foundation to contribute to Drive to End Hunger, a charity designed to help provide food and other support to the needy.

This program doesn’t just feed people in need, it seeks to find a way to solve the problems that cause people to go hungry in the first place. Needless to say, this is a pretty important cause, and it’s pretty cool to see Nickelodeon working in conjunction with well respected organizations such as NASCAR and AARP to raise awareness about this problem. Even if you’re not a racing fan, you’ve got to admit that it’ll be cool to see the turtles featured in major popular culture once again. After all, it’s been a while since we’ve seen their faces plastered everywhere, hasn’t it? Thankfully, this is a lot more meaningful than just some cheap cereal. Some fans are still torn about this new series, but most have already come to accept the series for what it is. If you’re a fan of the new series, show some support for Drive to End Hunger and check out these two awesome cars this Saturday! The broadcast will be available exclusively on PRN and Nickelodeon channels, along with GoPRN.com
