The game hasn’t even been officially announced yet, but we’re already learning a lot about it. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan is shaping up to be a truly special experience. Developed by Platinum Games, Mutants in Manhattan has been submitted for ratings approval in Australia and we’ve already seen some artwork for the game thanks to its appearance on the Xbox marketplace. As if that weren’t enough to get you excited, the list of available achievements on Xbox One/Xbox 360 has also been leaked, and it seems to indicate some fairly important details about the game.
Clocking in at a total of 50 achievements, it would appear that there is plenty to do in this new TMNT game. Fans have been wondering whether or not the game will be a traditional beat ’em up like previous Ninja Turtles titles from Konami, and there are plenty of indicators that this may in fact be the case. In particular, the Goin’ Up! achievement mentions an elevator level, which will immediately be familiar to fans of the beat ’em up genre. In addition to that, the Turtle Power! achievement mentions that you will have the ability to switch between all four turtles, which is very similar in structure to the concept behind the original TMNT game for NES.
Other notable achievements include The Green Way and North Hampton, which reveal that you will be doing a lot of travelling, specifying that you must travel 150 miles within the game. In addition to the amount of travelling you’ll be doing, there will also be a lot of memorable faces, as enemies like Krang, Slash, Bebop, Rocksteady and Karai are all mentioned at least once. The Nice To Meet You! achievement reveals that there will be online co-op, which could be pretty cool if it’s done right. After all, who wouldn’t want to get down with four other shellheads in a massive, immersive, online beat ’em up starring their favorite heroes in a half shell? Sounds pretty awesome to me!
No matter where you look on this list, you’ll find a bunch of information that definitely looks promising. I didn’t even mention the achievements for returning bags of stolen money, eating pizza, performing combo attacks or turning into zombies. Yes, zombies. Go ahead and look that one up for yourself! I think it’s fair to say that Mutants in Manhattan is shaping up nicely, even if it hasn’t officially been announced yet. Something tells me that the game will get more attention once we get closer to the release of Out of the Shadows and the events of E3.
I don’t know about you, but I’m already very excited about the prospects of this new TMNT game. What do you think? Let us know your thoughts and share your favorite achievement with us in the comments below.
