TMNT | Pizza Hut Honors 20-Year-Old TMNT Coupon

by Zach Gasior

Remember when Pizza Hut was kind of cool? Back in the early 90’s, they were one of the best pizza restaurants out there! They even got together with the studios releasing the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, ensuring that copies of the VHS would include special coupons for up to $20 off at their restaurant. We still see promotions like this today, but few are as well matched up as the TMNT and pizza. Imagine, if you will, what it would be like to go back to those days? Well, it turns out that a Youtuber named PauseThe90s decided to do just that: He took an original, sealed copy of the VHS with him to a Pizza Hut , dressed up in proper 90’s attire, and tried to get them to honor the coupons. Can you guess what happened next?

Well, surprisingly, the manager of the store agreed to honor the coupons, despite them being over 20 years out of date! How’s that for radical? It’s just too bad that their pizza isn’t quite as awesome as it used to be. Still, it’s pretty cool of Pizza Hut to honor a coupon so old. If the new TMNT show from Nickelodeon wasn’t quite enough to make you feel old, maybe this hilarious video will do the trick. After all, it isn’t every day that you get to see a guy in zebra sunglasses and parachute pants walk into a pizza restaurant like a boss. While watching, keep in mind that results may be different in your immediate area. In other words, don’t just go out trying to get pizza restaurants to honor decades old coupons, because it probably won’t work. It’s probably better to just order some ‘za, pop in whatever copy you may have of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, sit back and quote Michelangelo’s unforgettable line: “Pizza dude’s got 30 seconds.”

The fact that the prank actually worked was a shocker. The American Flag pants were quite stylish 🙂

It’s epic that she honored the coupon. I wouldn’t if I was the manager! I mean, if I wasn’t a fan.
