There’s been a lot of negativity surrounding the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot produced by Michael Bay.
However, with the movie put on hold for another few months, fan disapproval has slowly begun to dissipate. The official word is that the movie was put on hold to rework the script, but Eastman himself has said that the move was made simply to align the release with the 30th anniversary of the TMNT. Whatever the case may be, it’s pretty clear that this movie is still going to happen eventually. With that in mind, it’s no wonder that rumors are still swirling about possible casting choices for the film.
The latest casting rumor puts well known actress Jessica Biel in the role of April O’Neil. Speaking with Collider recently, Biel was asked how she felt about the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, and whether she would consider the role or not. She had this to say on the subject: “I dig April, she’s cool. She wore a yellow suit and she was a redhead. That was a great show, I loved it as a kid, so sure! Yeah!”
Jessica Biel is probably best known for her role on the hit television show 7th Heaven, which propelled her career forward in the late 90’s. However, she recently played a starring role in the remake of Total Recall, which met with varied reception over all. Whether you liked her performance in that film or not, the fact is that she’s got some experience with Hollywood reboots, and you could definitely find someone worse for the role than her. Obviously, her statement doesn’t exactly confirm that she is going to play that role, but it does pose some interesting questions. What do you think? Would Jessica Biel make for a good April O’Neil?
