Over the last few years, Goodsmile has been developing a series of specialized figures based on some of the most popular villains from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. This collection of statuesque figurines was inspired by artwork they had commissioned from James Jean. After bringing Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady to market, fans have been eagerly awaiting the final collectible in this series. Needless to say, you can rest assured that they have been hard at work and are very close to releasing this Krang figure.
Much like the other characters in this series of collectibles, Krang and his mandroid have been highly stylized for this figure. Although it’s nice to note that you can remove Krang from his robot body, this item isn’t really intended for play. That being said, one look at him outside of the body reveals that Goodsmile has gone to painstaking efforts to recreate the artistic vision of James Jean. Not only is this Krang figure incredibly detailed, but it also has an amazing paint job.Although Krang isn’t slated for release until January of 2018, it’s nice to know that this series of TMNT villains is near completion. The Krang figure comes with a somewhat hefty price tag of Â¥23,148 (roughly $209), but considering how much effort they’ve put into the collectible, I’d say that’s a fair price. Unfortunately, this will probably be too cost prohibitive for some collectors, but at least it’s not the most expensive TMNT figure we’ve ever seen.
Even if you never purchase this item, it’s at least interesting to see what these boutique toy labels can come up with. Here’s hoping that Goodsmile continues to produce excellent products like this for years to come.
