UPDATE: The below is a rumor. It has since been debunked by Kevin Eastman himself, on Twitter.
THIS IS NOT HAPPENING. We have spoken with the powers that be, Nickelodeon and this is 100 % fake. Would be cool – but NOT happening 👍😷🍕 pic.twitter.com/c6BFvgvGHO

It’s finally happening. A live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series is in the works for the CBS All Access streaming service.
As first reported by The Cinema Spot, the new series is set to follow The Last Ronin comic series from IDW.
The synopsis for the comic reads,
“In a future New York City far different from the one we know today, a lone surviving Turtle goes on a seemingly hopeless mission to obtain justice for his fallen family and friends.”
It’s unclear if this is set to be a limited series or ongoing, given the source material. But this could also be the franchise’s first live action series geared toward an adult audience.
It’s important to note that it still has not been ordered to series yet, and it is unclear as to how far along the series is in development. It could be quite a while before anything hits the streaming service.
What do you think of this news? Will this be enough to make you sign up for CBS All Access? Do you want an adult TMNT series? Let us know in the comments!
