New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade Game Coming Soon

It's been a long time coming, but fans can finally look forward to a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game based on Nickelodeon's TMNT! Image Source: Nickelodeon, Viacom.

No, you’re not imagining anything. A brand new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game was just announced by the arcade cabinet company Raw Thrills. After decades of waiting for a follow up to titles like Turtles in Time, we finally have a brand new beat ’em up TMNT game on the horizon. According to the flyer below, the game will be featured at the IAAPA 2017 Trade Conference, indicating that they are currently in the process of selling the title to prospective buyers.

Although Nickelodeon’s TMNT is coming to an end, it looks like Viacom has chosen this particular version of our heroes in a half shell for their newest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game. This arcade cabinet will include a 55″ HD screen and controls for up to 4 players. Unfortunately, they have not announced any plans to make this title available on PC or home consoles, but the redemption option may indicate the types of establishments where you will find this TMNT arcade cabinet in the future.

The “redemption option” probably refers to ticket redemption, which means that the game is likely designed for arcades which provide tickets based on how far you get. These types of cabinets are typically sold to locations such as Dave & Buster’s, a chain restaurant that specializes in providing state-of-the-art arcade games to visitors. You can also find them at bigger arcade businesses like GameWorks. We don’t yet know where this title will show up, but it’s reasonable to expect it at higher end arcades.

Sadly, most of us won’t have the chance to buy this Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game for ourselves. Even though Raw Thrills hasn’t announced a price tag just yet, it’s not unreasonable to expect this cabinet to sell for between $5,000-$10,000. These aren’t cheap devices, and they are designed for the specific purpose of entertaining guests and making money at an arcade. With that in mind, I wouldn’t recommend putting this on any Christmas list.

Despite the fact that this game won’t be widely available to all audiences, it’s still nice to see a brand new TMNT Brawler coming out soon. Raw Thrills had the following to say about their new title:

“This new version of TMNT is a completely new re-imagining of the brawler concept. There are more moves, more environmental interaction, cool Turtle Power special attacks, voiceover from the entire cast (including Seth Green and others)… it’s really amazing.”

Raw Thrills has yet to reveal who developed the game, but chances are that any TMNT Beat ’em up on the market is going to borrow at least some influence from Konami. Needless to say, we’re pretty excited about the potential for this product. Here’s hoping we all get the chance to play this awesome Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game!

What do you think? Will you be keeping an eye out for this new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game? Is it nice to see another TMNT brawler/beat ’em up hit the market? Share your thoughts either in the comments below or on Facebook/Twitter.

Great… a possibly awesome TMNT game that everyone won’t get to play…

My husband collects pinball machines (em & modern alike), as well as various arcade cabinets, and Japanese candy cabinets…
I sent him a link to this article. He’s on board. Though he would wait on actually buying one until we’ve been able to play it first. My disappointment with the latest TMNT console game wasn’t a severe loss. And I was able to trade in the game when I was done with it…. Pins/Cabs/units like this wouldn’t be as easy to offload… I’m looking forward to this game being realized though!
