It has only been a few weeks since the release of Nickelodeon’s latest Tales of the TMNT DVD, but they’ve already announced plans for what they call “The Final Chapters” in December. As the name implies, this appears to include all of the remaining tales that have yet to be released on home media. The cover art seems to confirm this, as it includes images from three different stories: The Usagi Yojimbo saga, Raphael: Mutant Apocalypse, and the Classic Movie Monsters adventure.
Spread across two discs, this set will be sold for the reasonable price of $16.99. Of course, this only begs the question of why Nickelodeon chose to release Wanted: Bebop & Rocksteady at roughly the same price point regardless of the fact that it only contained four episodes. Whatever their reasons may be, recent events (moving the show to Nicktoons and significantly altering the schedule) just go to show that it’s almost impossible to predict what this network has planned – or why.Unlike previous releases, The Final Chapters DVD will not include any episodes that haven’t already aired. As a matter of fact, it would now appear that Nickelodeon intends to save the episodes from Wanted: Bebop & Rocksteady for the finale, so you can actually watch the last few episodes of this Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series well before they hit the air. Make no mistake — even for Nickelodeon, this is very far from normal.
Regardless of all the home video and scheduling issues that have plagued the final season of Nick’s TMNT, it’s nice to know that this last DVD release will include three stories. They could have decided to release all three tales on different DVDs, but instead we’re getting them all in one convenient package. Given recent decisions, one has to wonder if this is just a convenient mistake. Either way, I’m sure that plenty of shellheads will be happy to bring home The Final Chapters when it hits store shelves on December 12th, 2017.

so weird. I bought the bebop and rocksteady so i can watch it early. I’m gonna watch it tomorrow night.
This is beyond weird!
I hope that this dvd will not be too stupide for dumb kids
this will be one of the best tmnt dvd
i don’t understand the weird scheduling and dvd releases, regardless i will still be picking it up. i am going to miss this show so much (ɵ̷̥̥᷄﹏ɵ̷̥̥᷅), i really hope they make a great series collection dvd box set.
I usually would just buy the Usagi episodes via my Roku and play them via it. However, due to the unfair treatment I feel Mutant Apocalypse has been getting, I’m willing to buy the DVD itself. Sure I’ll hardly watch Disc 1 (the Halloween episodes should’ve not been made and WWC was undone by a terrible second half), but the second disk will contain my two favorite arcs of the season.
