Prime 1 Studio Reveals Out of the Shadows Leonardo Statue
Although several shellheads did not enjoy Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, there are quite a few fans who loved the film. With that in mind, perhaps there is a reason that Prime 1 Studio continues to release statues based on the movie. The latest TMNT statue in their line of ‘Out of the Shadows’ merchandise is none other than Leonardo, and he’s looking pretty good. Most people don’t like the way the turtles looked in this film or the previous effort from Platinum Dunes and Paramount Pictures, but that doesn’t change the fact that this company has managed to almost perfectly recreate images from the silver screen with their Leonardo statue.
As you can see, Prime 1 Studio took reference material from the film and created their limited edition TMNT collectible based on that iteration of the leader in blue. It would appear that their efforts were not in vain, as this Leonardo statue is definitely well crafted. Even if you’re not a fan of the design, it’s fair to say that they did a great job at re-creating Leo’s look from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. Sadly, collectibles from this company usually come with a pretty high price tag, and this Leo statue is no exception.
With a print run of only 750, this Leonardo statue will be sold at a price of $599. To be fair, that’s cheaper than some of their previous TMNT merchandise, but it’s still way too expensive for most fans. That being said, something tells me they won’t have too much trouble finding 750 people who are willing to pay the price for this extremely limited collectible. Unfortunately, the price tag isn’t the only shock that potential buyers will experience, as the statue won’t actually be developed and shipped out until late 2017.
If you don’t mind paying half a grand for a very limited TMNT collectible that you won’t get your hands on for an entire year, this is definitely worth consideration. Something tells me that most of our readers won’t be interested, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t report the latest turtley awesome news as it happens! At the very least, it’s cool to see some crisp images of the Leonardo statue from Prime 1 Studio before it sells out.
