Limited Edition Raphael Statue Available From Sideshow

by Justin W

I’m sure a lot of fans got some pretty cool Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles statues over the holidays. After all, with their recent resurgence in popularity, we’ve been seeing a lot more collectible figures and statues from a variety of companies. Heck, we’ve featured a few examples of these works of art before, and something tells me that we’re going to feature several more in the years to come. That being said, this particular TMNT statue is sure to be an acquired taste.

Designed to look just like Raphael from the 2014 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, this Ninja Turtles statue is perfect for any fan of the film. Intricately detailed and limited to only 1500 pieces, this is probably one of the nicest TMNT statues ever made. That being said, a lot of shellheads didn’t care for the movie produced by Platinum Dunes, so this is probably going to have a limited appeal. In addition to that, the price tag is sure to be an issue for fans, even if they are interested in the product.

At a price of $699.99, something tells me it might take a while to find the audience for this Raphael statue. To be honest, there’s nothing wrong with the price when you consider the quality of the item you are receiving. Coming in at 21.65” high, this is a pretty hefty Ninja Turtles statue that actually has a lot of fine details that are worthy of note. For instance, a closer look at the skin reveals an excellent reptilian design, and the tattered rags he uses for armor are incredibly realistic.

Let’s be fair here and say that this might even be the best that this iteration of Raph has ever looked. Even if you’re not a fan of the new movie franchise, this is definitely a special collectible for any fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Sideshow will be doing a Ninja Turtles statue for all four turtles, but as of right now, Raph is the only one available. If you’ve got the money to plunk down on this limited edition Raphael Statue, now is the time to make your order. If not, feel free to tell us how you really feel about this TMNT statue from Sideshow and Prime 1 Studio in the comments below!

MAny fans were really harsh on the 2014 movie.. I agree that the human characters were pathetic but the turtles design was not bad at all.. they really looked great on screen.. and this statue looks amazing.. Raph looked really bad ass in the movie and this captures it perfectly.. for 300$, it would be a sure purchase.

true I greatly agree with your opinion on the turtles and humans

Things I hated about the turtles:

1. They’re massive.
2. They’re bulletproof.
3. Raph has a do-rag.

I also didn’t like the idea of making the Foot clan some paramilitary organization. And Shredder was over-the-top. It was really the type of movie that one should expect from Michael Bay…in a bad way.
