Mondo to Release Classic Mouser Figures

When it comes to the mouser, there have been a lot of different approaches to developing toys based on the robotic villain. When Playmates first tackled the character, they went with a larger model that could be wound up and would actually walk around. For the 2012 series, they decided to produce a pack of 7 smaller mousers for the turtles to fight. Now, Mondo is trying to give the fans something a little closer to the original design of the pest control robots with their latest mouser figures.

This 1/6th scale mouser is based on the original concept art for the baddies. This is in fitting with the other work that Mondo has done with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, as they have focused heavily on the designs from the classic graphic novels. Their first four figures were all four Ninja Turtles, so it makes sense for them to start working on a few enemies for our heroes in a half shell to fight. Unlike previous attempts to create mouser toys, Mondo has elected to provide two of these figures in each package.

At a price of only $50 for two highly detailed mousers, I think it’s safe to say that this is one of the better deals that Mondo has produced for the fans. The price point is no doubt lower due to the fact that fewer points of articulation were necessary, less paint was required, and there aren’t really any accessories. If you manage to get your hands on the Mondo exclusive set, you’ll get three mice toys to go along with the mousers, but otherwise you’re just going to get the two mouser figures. With fewer necessary costs, Mondo can afford to develop these figures at a relatively low cost for fans.

Although these mouser figures won’t officially be released until Q4 2016, they have just gone up for pre-order on Mondo’s website. If you’ve picked up any of their previous Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures, these classic mousers will be an excellent addition to the collection at a fairly low price. With 20 points of articulation, you’ll be able to pose your mouser figures however you wish.

What do you think? Will you be picking up these awesome mouser figures, or are you going to focus on different TMNT toys for your collection? Let us know your thoughts either in the comments below or via facebook/twitter.

My name is Justin Wren and I love to write about the TMNT! I've been a big Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan since the late 80's. Back then, I would watch the original animated series and play with the Playmates toys all the time. I have been following the boys ever since I was a kid, and I'm very happy to see them back in the limelight after all these years. Needless to say, I'm proud to be a member of the team on this awesome TMNT Fan Site!
