How to Make Fun and Easy TMNT Ornaments

There are plenty of ways to celebrate your favorite heroes in a half shell during the holidays, but one of the easiest and most creative options is to make your very own Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ornaments. Believe it or not, these festive TMNT ornaments are actually quite simple to make, as they only require a few basic ingredients. With that in mind, let’s talk about the tools you will need to make some fun and turtley awesome holiday decorations!

Necessary Items: Green Ball Ornaments, Acrylic Paint, Wire Hangers

Optional Items: Colored Felt or Ribbon, Googly Eyes, Glue

The first step is to prepare an area for arts and crafts. If you’re using paint, you’ll want to put down paper towels to make sure that the paint doesn’t end up ruining anything. Alternatively, you should also have a safe space for cutting and gluing fabric if you should choose to work with felt or ribbon instead.

The next step will depend on your method. If you are painting, take a green ball ornament and begin painting a classic Ninja Turtles bandana around the decoration. For those who plan to include their mouths, make sure that the bandana is at least slightly above the middle section of the ornament. Once the paint for the bandana is dry, you can begin to paint some eyes on the bandana. After the eyes are dry, the mouth should be the last thing to paint.

Tip: While the paint for the bandana is drying, begin painting the bandana for another ornament.

For those of you planning to work with felt or ribbon, cut out small bandanas and use a small amount of glue to affix the fabric to the green ball ornament. Once the glue has dried and the bandanas are firmly in place, glue some googly eyes to the bandana. If you wish, you can also use paint to create mouths and complete the illusion with your TMNT ornaments.

Well, there you have it! This project shouldn’t take more than an hour, and it can be tons of festive fun for almost any Ninja Turtles fan. If you’ve got a turtles fan in the family who needs a little holiday cheer, these Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ornaments might just do the trick.

As a final note, we would like to mention that all of the examples of TMNT ornaments on this page were created by Ninja Turtles fans from around the world. We would like to thank them for coming up with such an awesome and simple idea and letting us share it with the world!

Happy Holidays and Cowabunga!

My name is Justin Wren and I love to write about the TMNT! I've been a big Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan since the late 80's. Back then, I would watch the original animated series and play with the Playmates toys all the time. I have been following the boys ever since I was a kid, and I'm very happy to see them back in the limelight after all these years. Needless to say, I'm proud to be a member of the team on this awesome TMNT Fan Site!
