Five Reasons TMNT is Better than True Love

True love is a wonderful thing, and if you’re lucky enough to find someone to fall in love with, then you’ve already won a real jackpot.  But there’s something wonderful about love for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and sometimes that love is even better than true love.  Here are five of the best reasons why.

1. Longevity

Even the longest TMNT fans would have trouble saying that they’ve had true love for 30 years.  Yet that’s how long the turtles have been around.  Through comics, television, film, video games, and so much more, the Ninja Turtles have been teaching kids and adults alike what it means to kick Foot Clan butt.  Thanks to that longevity and the current boom in TMNT love, it doesn’t look like the heroes in green will be going anywhere anytime soon.

1. Four are Better than One

When two people love each other, it’s a great commitment that can do amazing things.  But what happens if there are four friends who will always be there for you through thick and thin, ready to provide just the entertainment you need whenever you’re feeling the itch to see some action?  Even if your favorite character happens to be Leonardo, you know that you’ll be happy to see Raphael kick butt, or Michelangelo do something outrageous.  There’s a different turtle for every mood, and you can get exactly what you need to brighten your day.

1. Always Someone to Save the Day

There’s nothing quite like having a hero on your side to save the day.  Whether you’re real or fictional, knowing that evil will be vanquished and good will reign supreme is certainly a comfort.  Thankfully, the turtles can make that a reality.  True love comes with some uncertainty about right choices and figuring out what’s good and what’s bad.  With the turtles, the lines are never blurred, and someone will always be on hand to save you from a vicious man named Shredder.

1. Plenty of Friends

When you have the turtles on your side, you also have their cast of characters and cavalcade of comrades.  True love may give you a single person to share most every aspect of your life with, but there’s a lot to be said about having April O’Neil, Casey Jones, Leatherhead, the Punk Frogs, and so many other characters around to help make things a little nicer.  Sometimes all you need is a surprise appearance from a friend like Miyamoto Usagi to turn a day around.

1. Knowledge and Wisdom for Living a Greater Life

True love offers many lessons that have great applications for improving a person’s quality of life.  But those lessons are most often only applicable to love, or matters of the heart.  When it comes to the turtles, there is nothing quite like the lessons provided by Master Splinter.  He didn’t get to be a wise ninja master by providing bad advice, after all.  Being able to watch the turtles struggle through their own lives means that Splinter’s wise words are available for fans to take in as well, leading to enlightenment in many areas of life instead of just one.

True love is a great thing to have, and worth holding onto when it’s found.  But if you haven’t found that love just yet, or you’re looking for more in your life, then TMNT is for you.  It may even be better than love, but it’s certainly something that will enrich and grow your life.
