Sydney, Australia comic book artist Jon Sommariva has been drawing for the comics since around 2002. He’s worked for all the big companies. He’s drawn for Darkhouse, DC, and IDW. As a twelve-year old kid in Australia he saw an episode of the Turtles animated series and it changed his life forever. He later drew Michelangelo which went viral all over the world, fans even tattooed his art on them.
Recently, Sommariva was nominated to participate in the ALS ice bucket challenge, and instead of simply donating to ALS and dumping a bucket of ice cold water on himself for all of Facebook to see, Sommariva decided to take his nomination a few steps past what most have done since the ALS ice bucket challenge first hit social media.
As a Turtles fan, and comic artist, Sommariva brought the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on board to help raise money for ALS. Sommariva took to Ebay to help raise money for ALS by auctioning off a one-of-a-kind Turtles piece done by his hand. All proceeds from the auction will go to ALS.
Sommariva first started drawing the Turtles back as a kid, and has produced three Turtles covers for IDW in recent years.

THIS.IS.AWESOME
Mikey doing the ice bucket to Raph funny.
When Laird owned the turtles they didn’t follow fads. You’re all caught up in the moment but you don’t get how forgetable and shallow the ice bucket challenge is.
the moral superiority powertrip by having it charity related is bad weird, how they apply social pressure to coerce people into following by fun or guilt
and now some moron who doesn’t get that or that following fads is dumb is cheapening the turtles
