New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Game Coming In October

Now that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows has been released and most of us have gotten a chance to check it out, you might be surprised to learn that they’re actually releasing another TMNT game very soon. Set to release on October 22nd in the states, this latest title from Activision actually looks very promising. The truth is, this one kind of snuck up on us, as there haven’t been that many advertisements for the title and it’s coming in on an old console just a few weeks before the next generation of gaming makes its way to our living rooms. Still, a few weeks is enough time to check out another awesome Ninja Turtles game, right? Of course it is!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Game 1

The new game, simply titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, is based entirely around the new Nickelodeon television series. Unlike Out Of The Shadows, which was only somewhat based on the show, this game looks and feels exactly like the new TMNT series we know and love. With a price tag of $29.99 – $39.99, it’s definitely affordable and it’s perfect for younger gamers who are familiar with the latest iteration of the turtles. It’s no secret which demographic this title is aimed at with iterations being made for the Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360 and Nintendo 3DS. Sadly, there are no screenshots of the 3DS version just yet, but we can only assume that it will look similar to its counterparts. After all, there appears to be a bit of cell shading going on here, which isn’t exactly difficult to replicate on portable consoles.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Game 2

I don’t know about you, but I’m glad to see another Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game hit the streets. Hopefully this one will be as well received (if not better) than Out Of The Shadows, although it does concern me that this title has remained under the radar for so long. After all, when a developer is proud of their work, they typically flaunt it; if they haven’t been flaunting this one around, it could be a bad sign. That being said, I’m not willing to pass judgment just yet and  neither should you. The trailer for the game reveals gameplay that looks pretty fun with more of a return to the side scrolling action that TMNT fans cherish. With that in mind, don’t forget that this is aimed at younger audiences, so you shouldn’t go into it expecting something for the long time fans. Regardless, this looks like a fun little beat ’em up title and I can’t wait to check it out! What about you? Let us know if you intend to pick this game up in the comments below.
