For so long fans have been wondering exactly which role William Fichtner be acting in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 film. Fichtner recently put all the questions to bed in a recent interview with Huffington Post by revealing his character as The Shredder!
“I play Shredder. It is cool. It’s one of those things that came along where I thought, “Really? Let me think about this for a minute.” [Laughs] Then I was like, “Yeah, OK, this sounds like a journey.” I’m very glad that it worked out, I’m really glad that I’m doing it.”
Fichtner has a superb acting background and can definitely use his experience to move his audience, he especially can perform as a villain as he did in a number of bits. The only issue fans would have with William Fichtner as Shredder would be the characters Asian decent. Or some would question Fichtner’s fighting ability as an martial artist, because Master Shredder is recognized forocious fighter. Some would approve and others would not. Do you approve? honestly i do not see the big deal, the guy is a great actor and can play an amazing villain, if anything this is probably the best casting for the movie so far, and as for shredder being Japanese…who is to say he still isnt? or doesnt have some sort of Japanese background…power rangers recently had a white boy have Japanese roots..it happens people get over it

Dumok, I feel your pain bro. This movie was a disater the second I heard about it. Did you hear about Whoopi Goldberg playing Burne? Who thought it would be a good idea to get a black woman to play the role of a fat white man. Its clear the casting crew, well basically the whole crew on thei movie are trolling fans. Its a disgrace. Not a single actor has any martial arts experience either. This is a bullshit movie being made on the Marquee value that the TMNT’s carry. I could go on about the rest of the casting choices. But anyone with a quarter of a brian can see whats wrong. My three year old nephew looked at the guy and says “nooooo thats not the Shredder”
If a three year old see’s it, imagine what the rest of the hardcore fans can see. At the very best we can hope the outcome of this abominations ends the Careers of Michael Bay, Megan Fox, and anyone else that partook in the pipe of crack that made them think this was a good idea.
Sure he is a good actor but this is complete crap, Shredder is a Japanese Martial Arts Master, I just think Michael Bay is racist, he has never cast an asian actor for a main role in a movie.
The studio should look for some New Blood for this role; this would be a good opportunity to find the next Bruce Lee.

a lil confused on the casting of William Fichtner for shredder. kind of agree with earlier comments that he should be Asian but still very excited to see the movie.
