The past few weeks has revealed some rather interesting details about the upcoming TMNT film being produced by Michael Bay. After rumors circulated about a potential title change to the movie, photos from the set have now confirmed that not only does the movie have its old name back, but it’s got a new logo to go with it! Captured from the back of a director’s chair, this Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles logo is definitely impressive. As a fan, even if you don’t particularly like it, you’ve still got to be pretty happy to find out that the title has gone back to its origins. After all, this could mean that all that “alien” business is done with and the film is getting back to the roots of the turtles!
In addition to this interesting photo, we also recently came across a lot of other pictures taken on the set. A few days ago, we revealed some of the first pictures of Megan Fox as April O’Neil, and they were definitely interesting. While she wasn’t wearing April’s characteristic yellow jumpsuit in those pictures, other photos from the set reveal that she is wearing a yellow jacket. Obviously, this isn’t the outfit we’re all familiar with, but you had to figure they’d change a few things around for this iteration of the character when they announced that Fox would be playing her role.
Other photographs taken on set revealed the first images of the Foot Clan, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles motion capture actors, and even Will Arnett’s official role in the film – that of the slimy Vernon Fenwick. While there are definitely a lot of changes taking place in this production, it’s nice to see that they’ve brought in notable characters who were previously absent in the original TMNT movies. It’s also kind of humorous to see four guys in crazy looking mo-cap suits with huge shells on their backs. That being said, the pictures of our beloved Ninja Turtles might actually give us some insight into one of the plot points for the film, as we can clearly see that it looks as though they’ve been captured. Will our boys get out of trouble? Well, we’ll just have to find that out when the movie is released in June of 2014. As for TMNT news on the web, it would appear that Warner Bros. has snatched up the domain name teenagemutantninjaturtlesmovie.com. This is an interesting move, considering that no plans have been announced for them to distribute the film in any way (Paramount Pictures is slated to do that) and they aren’t one of the listed production companies. Perhaps their role in the film is much bigger than has been revealed as of yet, but it’s probably important to note that this website was created in 2009, well before this movie really went to production. That being said, it was updated in March and Warner Bros. seems to be interested in keeping the site.
What does this all mean? Who knows. Either way, it’s pretty clear that we’re finally getting into the swing of things with this new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. What do you think of all this new information? Are some of you fans getting a little more excited now that you can see a little more of what’s going on? Let us know in the comments below.

Yes yes yes! Not only is this movie looking more and more promising, it shows that the fans really have a voice. I am sure with all the pressure true blood fans were putting on the directors, they had to do something. I’m not 100% with the cast yet, but from what I am seeing, they are working much harder at not causing a complete and devastating flop. Miss Fox better be on her game. The World will be watching.
Well said Josephine!!
Now this news is definitely getting me excited! -Still not thrilled about Megan Fox- But I can’t wait to see how this turns out.
What’s your thoughts on Will Arnett as Vernon Fenwick?
Megan Fox totally ruins this movie. I first thought that Michael Bay would have ruined it single-handedly. But instead, he cast Megan Fox as April O’Neil?!?!?!?! I am not looking forward to watching this, even though I am. But I will wait to download it online for FREE. Thanks, Megan Fox.
Dan,
Lots of positive things are surrounding this film as well so we encourage you to stay optimistic on this one dude.
Sorry but The Foot look terrible.
Took us by surprise as well Luke but hopefully they end up wearing their appropriate uniforms under Shredder’s command.
You know I was pleased to hear about the new TMNT movie but then more rumors came in about the cast and Megan Fox and about the theme but to be honest I was stright up mad too but now I just want to see the movie because I love the TMNT movies and TV shows and now another movie and I can see past all of the negative things and what I see is a 9 year Turtle fan who just wants to care about the Turtle spirit and so thank you for this movie 🙂 <3
We are pretty confident the positive will outweigh the negative. Good of way staying optimistic Grace!!
