More Playmates TMNT Toys Coming in 2013
A few weeks ago, we brought you the news that Playmates is planning to launch a second line of TMNT toys in early 2013. Now that these toys are actually starting to show up in some Toys R Us stores, fans are getting a glimpse of what to expect. However, they’re not getting a full look at the 2013 lineup, because apparently there are some new additions that have yet to be released. It has been confirmed that this new list of figures will be released this year, but there’s no time frame for that as of yet. Speculation is that these new figures will be officially announced sometime in the next few months, but there’s no word yet on exactly when they will hit store shelves. That being said, this is one awesome list of action figures headed our way and we should definitely be excited about it!
- The Rat King
- Mouser 7 Pack
Granted, most of these are villains, but the turtles need someone to fight against, don’t they? In addition, these are some of the more popular baddies from both the new and the original show, so it’s hard to really complain about getting toys that some of us have been waiting for years to see. In particular, the 7-pack of mousers sounds like an excellent deal. These little machines are a notable part of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle history, but in the past we haven’t seen many action figures of them. Thankfully, that is all about to change with this new line of Playmates toys! Considering how small and annoying they are supposed to be, a pack of seven of them seems like a good choice.
Fans will also notice characters like Leatherhead and The Rat King, both notable and both important to the series. Needless to say, this is a list of baddies that has been sorely missing from the new TMNT toy lineup. It’s good to see that Playmates is putting a lot of effort into this action figure line, because with the success of Nickelodeon’s new show, we’re sure to see a lot of new toys in the next few years. Sadly, we don’t have any pictures as of yet, but we’ll be sure to update you when they release the first images.
