Last week, we brought you news of some hot new kicks from Fila and the first images of the newest toys in Playmate’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line. With that in mind, let’s start off today with a little update on both of these news items.
First off, it would appear that Fila’s new FX-100 TMNT sneakers were quickly snatched up by fans like yourselves, as they went out of stock on the same day they were released! Sadly, this is just the way things work sometimes in the world of shoes, especially when the product in question is a limited edition. There’s no telling when or if these shoes will come back in stock, but for now it would appear that fans looking to pick them up might have to try the after market.
As for all those awesome toys that were shown off at the Hong Kong toy fair, it looks like we’re going to get even more than we bargained for! With the 2013 New York Toy Fair just a few weeks off, MTV Geek recently received a special first look at the new Spring and Fall Playmates TMNT toy lines, with video footage even showing some of the toys in action. In addition, it was announced that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Classic Collection is still going strong, with new figures for Bebop and Rocksteady being prepared for Fall 2013. Long time fans will no doubt be pleased to hear about this, as these are definitely two popular and beloved characters from the original franchise. As you can see in the pictures below, they actually look to have quite a nice build! If you want to see more from this awesome first look, check out MTV Geek’s tour.
So what else is going on in the world of the Ninja Turtles? Well, it would appear that an old face is looking to be a part of the new movie being produced by Michael Bay. Ernie Reyes Jr, notable actor who played Donatello’s stunt double in the first movie and Keno in the second, has made a pretty convincing pitch video of his previous work in an effort to be a part of the new film. Seeing as how the movie starts shooting in April, I can’t think of a better time to start selling your craft. Reyes Jr. has shown an incredible ability in the martial arts in the past and has personal history with the turtles, making him a perfect choice for a consultant – or perhaps even a stunt double – in the flick. It remains to be seen whether or not they’ll pick him for the job, but I think this demo reel speaks for itself. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.
