We recently brought you the news that the 10th and final season of the original animated series of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was headed to store shelves, complete with all the missing episodes. Most fans were delighted about the news, but left wondering if other TMNT shows would ever get a home video release. Well, it may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but at least we are finally seeing a proper release for Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation on DVD. If you haven’t heard of the series, let me give you a little background: The Next Mutation was the first ever live action television series for the turtles. Following in the vein of the live action film series, the turtles lived in the same abandoned train station featured in the second and third films. However, the changes made to the formula were more than apparent, as the turtles would not be found fighting the Foot clan, but rather the Rank. In addition, a fifth turtle was added to the gang, and fans have been crying foul ever since.
Regardless of how you feel about the series, this is definitely a part of TMNT history that should not be ignored. Shout! 
Factory, known for their fan service, is bringing us the first volume of the series on September 4th. The set will feature the first 13 episodes of the series spread over 2 discs. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like there will be any special features on the set, so if you’re looking for some retrospectives or commentaries, you might be a little disappointed. That being said, I somehow doubt that anyone would be buying this set for the special features. If you’re interested in Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation, chances are it’s just for the curiosity of it. After all, most fans don’t even consider this to be a true branch off of the series, and have left it as a forgotten memory of the past. Still, if you’ve been wondering what all the discussion surrounding The Next Mutation is about, perhaps you should check out the series for yourself. IM LOVING THE NEW COMICS IDW IS PUTTING OUT BUT I DONT LIKE HOW THE STORES DONT HAVE SEASON 9 ON THERE SHELVES BECAUSE WHEN SEASON 8 WAS OUT THEY WERE EVERYWERE AND SOOOOO MANY PEOPLE WERE BUYING IT I GUESS IM JUST GOING TO HAVE TO BUY IT ON-LINE CAUSE I HAVE JUST ABOUT EVERY OTHER SEASON EXCEPT THE SEASON THEY BROKE UP INTO VOL.I DIDNT LIKE HOW THEY DID THAT BUT OH WELL IMA STILL BUY THEM ALL BUT ITS JUST GOING TO TAKE ME A LIL MORE TIME AND I CANT WAIT TILL SEASON 10 DVD COMES OUT IN THE STORES BUT THIS TIME I’LL BE THERE THE SAME WEEK IT COMES OUT CAUSE THEY GO REALL QUICK TURTLE POOOOWWWWEEEEERRRR!!!!!!!!!!! Yes “The Next Mutation” is a bit off the core story but its still TMNT for fans who enjoy it either way. The season 10 DVD is going to sell very well as its the closing chapter from the early saga (which most fans adore). Cool post Joseph!
I actually bought a vcr tape its called “EAST MEETS WEST” I love it but im thinking it was from over seas im in the united states theres 5 turtles and 1 of them is a girl lol. But honestly im liking how the original tmnt are with that being said lets just hope its great im a huuuuugggge tmnt fan since I was 7yrs old and im now 34 and now ive got my 8yr old daughter into it and she loves them just as much as me and my gf do ty so much to kevin and peter for all your hard work thru all these years you guys truly are legends in my eyes!!!!!! And a speacial thanks for still working with IDW comics after you guys had to sell the company. TURTLE POWER!!!!!! ITS PIZZA TIME GOTTA GO 🙂
OH OH OH OH OH OH!! wait one morw question does anyone know when the new dawn of the ninja movie is coming out i’ve been following there grafic novel on http://www.dawnoftheninjas.com thats looking like a great tmnt movie!!! If anyone know the release date PLEASE let me know THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH ok im off to the comic book store to pick up the new tmnt comic book i cant wait until the next micro series come out “april” is the next one thats released IDW is doing a great job and i didnt think they were going to cause mirage was unreal with the turtles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
