Kevin Eastman Studios Announces Details For Exclusive ThreeZero TMNT Figures

In a surprise announcement, ThreeZero and Kevin Eastman have revealed some important details about their planned exclusive TMNT figures. Unfortunately, I doubt this is the kind of news that most fans were hoping to hear. If you’ve been looking forward to picking up these awesome Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collectibles, it might be time to take out a second mortgage on the house. Unlike other TMNT merchandise, it would appear that these exclusive Ninja Turtles figures will be limited to an extremely low print run with a very high price tag.

Sold directly through Kevin Eastman Studios, these ThreeZero TMNT figures will be limited to only 25 sets of all four turtles. As if that weren’t bad enough, this exclusive set will cost you a total of $2,000 to obtain. To be fair, the KBE Studios Edition set will also include a certificate of authenticity and a tiny pizza box hand-drawn and signed by none other than Eastman himself. This is definitely a very nice collector’s item, but it’s also going to be far too costly for most fans of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Although this KBE Studios Edition set is extremely limited, we have yet to determine whether or not we will see ThreeZero produce these particular models for a larger audience. It is still entirely possible that they could release a more massive print run of these TMNT figures at some point in the near future, and those collectibles would probably be a lot more affordable. That being said, I wouldn’t be surprised if they decided to keep this exclusive set limited in order to retain its value.

They have previously produced a similar collection of TMNT figures with the colored masks, but this particular set features all four turtles with red masks and exclusive content that you won’t find everywhere else. These figures are clearly based on the original comic book, and the fact that they were designed by Eastman makes them a lot more desirable. All we can say is that you’d better be quick if you want to get this limited edition set of Ninja Turtles memorabilia. After all, there are only 25 sets being made and they are already available for pre-order.

HeroCross Releasing New 90’s TMNT Figures

There have been a lot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toys hitting the market. Many of these figures have been focused on paying homage to the original cartoon and the first few TMNT movies. This shouldn’t be too surprising, considering that the turtles have celebrated quite a few notable anniversaries over the past few years, and nostalgia for the franchise is at an all time high. Perhaps that is why HeroCross has joined the crowd and announced that they are planning their own series of 90’s TMNT figures based on the design of the original animated series.

Unlike some of the other TMNT action figures and statues being developed right now, these HeroCross Ninja Turtles figures are actually quite special. Featuring a design described as a “Hybrid Metal Figuration,” it’s clear that these aren’t just going to be made of plastic like many of the competitor brands. Instead, these 90’s TMNT figures will be part metal and part plastic, making them much more sturdy and difficult to break. Featuring more than one head and several pairs of hands for each figure, it’s safe to say that these are intended as display pieces for fans to put on their shelves or desks.

Each Ninja Turtles figure has an excellent paint job that looks a lot like the character designs from the mid-90’s era of the original cartoon. There are similar TMNT figures hitting the market soon, but these are fairly different. The bodies appear to be a bit smaller than the heads, making for a rather unique and interesting take on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. At a size of 6 inches, these figures likely won’t take up too much space. If you’re looking for a 90’s TMNT figure you can show off either at work or at home, this appears to be an excellent option.

Sadly, we don’t even know when these 90’s TMNT figures are going to be released. What we do know is how similar figures from HeroCross have been priced, which suggests that we can expect a price of around $90-$100 for each figure. This is going to be a little pricey for some fans, but considering the build quality and the features of these figures, it’s a decent price. Donatello will be the first Ninja Turtle released from this toy line, so fans of Donnie should be on the lookout for more information about this figure in the coming months.

Kevin Eastman’s TMNT Figures Get Painted

We’ve been talking about a lot of Ninja Turtles statues and action figures as of late, but something tells me that these particular collectibles will be much more popular among the TMNT fan community. After all, unlike the other TMNT figures we’ve seen recently, these were actually designed by co-creator Kevin Eastman. It’s difficult to get more authentic than that, folks! We’ve already talked about these particular Ninja Turtles collectibles before, but this is the first time that we’ve seen the official designs fully painted. As if they didn’t look good enough, this expert paint job has definitely added some beautiful detail to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures being developed by Threezero.

Featured in the latest issue of Clutter Magazine, these images look very promising. As if the fine details on display aren’t enough, they also include a variety of weapons to be held. In addition to the customary katana, sai, nunchaku and bo staff, you’ll also find additional weapons such as daggers, throwing stars and smoke bombs. Even the weapons are well designed, as they each look weathered from years of use. No matter how you want to display these beautiful TMNT figures, you’ll have a variety of options to choose from thanks to the plethora of tools at your disposal.

Sharp eyed fans will note that these designs aren’t entirely accurate to the comics, although they are somewhat similar. Kevin Eastman has always been one to try new things from time to time, so this slight design change shouldn’t come as too much of a shock. At nearly 12 inches in height, these figures are a bit bigger than the standard TMNT action figure, and they’re definitely detailed enough to serve as an excellent show of respect for your favorite heroes in a half shell. To be honest, I’m sure most fans will be more than pleased with the results of these awesome TMNT figures.
