A lot of both positive and negative comments have been made about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. Most of the people who wanted to see it have probably already done so, and those who haven’t might already be tired of hearing about the film. That being said, it’s always nice to hear the thoughts of TMNT fans such as James Rolfe (AVGN), Andre Meadows (Black Nerd Comedy) and Doug Walker (The Nostalgia Critic)! Thankfully, all three of these entertainers/critics have joined together to give us their hilarious take on the movie.
As you might expect, this review is intended to be more entertaining than serious, but you may be surprised to hear some of their opinions. These guys have been paying close attention to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise for pretty much their entire lives, so they have a deep appreciation for the property. At several points during the humorous review, they come to the conclusion that it might not have been a good idea to give the fans everything they wanted. Although they enjoyed that the movie was basically an episode of the original animated series brought to the silver screen, they felt that this probably wasn’t the best approach.
James, Doug and Andre are three of the biggest and most notable nerds on the internet. Whether you like them or not, their opinions on Out of the Shadows definitely hold a bit more weight than the thoughts of someone who has no experience with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Although it’s safe to say that they weren’t impressed with the results of this movie, it would appear that they didn’t hate the sequel. All three of them enjoyed several aspects of the film, but they also took issue with several flaws that are difficult to ignore.
Whether you agree with them or not, this is definitely a fun video to watch. If you want to avoid spoilers, I highly recommend that you watch Out of the Shadows before checking out this review.
