Free Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Comic Coming Out on TMNT Day

For those who weren’t aware, TMNT Day will be taking place next week on October 25th. This is a day when shellheads come together to share their love for our heroes in a half shell. As if that weren’t awesome enough, IDW has announced that they plan to release a free Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic to celebrate TMNT Day. This sampler promises to bring readers up to speed, so it may not actually include any new stories. That being said, it’s still pretty cool to see IDW giving us yet another free Ninja Turtles comic this year.

According to FreeComicBookDay.com, this event will also include several sales at participating comic book shops around the country. These special offers will likely vary from one location to the next, but it has been reported that you can expect a notable deal on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Ultimate Collection Volume 1. This release includes the first seven issues of the original Mirage comic from 1984, and it is (as the title indicates) one of the best ways to enjoy those early stories.

In addition to these discounts, issue #75 of IDW’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be released on October 25th. This will complete a notable three-part story arc which began with the landmark issue #73. No other TMNT comic has ever made it past 72 issues, making this the longest running series in the franchise. Needless to say, it looks like IDW is going all out to celebrate TMNT Day this year!

Even if you don’t head out to your local comic book shop next Wednesday, we recommend commemorating the turtles in your own special way. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

• Read a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic
• Make a pizza inspired by the turtles
• Enjoy an episode of your favorite TMNT cartoon
• Greet your friends by saying “Cowabunga!”
