It’s been a while since we heard about the partnership between NBA superstar Carmelo Anthony and Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, but we finally have some more information about the TMNT x Melo product line. First and foremost, as the title suggests, we now know that you can expect to find these products in Macy’s stores all over the United States this May.
The timing of this release is pretty significant, being that the new movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows is due for release on June 3rd, 2016. There haven’t been any confirmed reports, but with Carmelo starring in the film, I wouldn’t be surprised to see some of these products on display in the new movie. There’s nothing like a little cross promotion!
The TMNT x Melo line will not only be aimed at fans of both Carmelo Anthony and the Ninja Turtles, but it will also be fairly priced as well. With a price range of between $20 and $35 per item, you can expect to find a lot of great products in the TMNT x Melo collection.
According to Macy’s, the product line will only be available for a limited time, so it’s probably a good idea to get your favorite items the second that they show up in stores. Unfortunately, there don’t appear to be any photographs of the apparel line just yet, but you can rest assured that we’ll keep you updated as more information is released.
The TMNT x Melo collection is designed for young boys and features a wide range of apparel options including TMNT t-shirts, TMNT hoodies and TMNT shorts. Carmelo Anthony, a die hard shellhead himself, appears to be ecstatic about his involvement with the line. When asked about his thoughts, Anthony said “I can’t wait for my young fans to check out TMNT x Melo and feel the excitement I had at their age for the Heroes in a Half Shell.” If you ask me, that sounds like a rather glowing endorsement for the boys in green!
