It’s time yet again for another set of turtley awesome videos that show some love for everyone’s favorite heroes in a half shell. This week, we’ve got a selection of especially nerdy videos which go in depth on the subject of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. If you’re the kind of shellhead who is always looking to learn more about the creation of these characters, you should really check these out.
First off, let’s take a look at an offering from Black Nerd Comedy. Andre is a known turtle maniac, so it shouldn’t be too surprising that he recently got the opportunity to interview both Greg Cipes and Ciro Nieli. Fans will recognize Cipes as the voice of Michelangelo in Nickelodeon’s new series, while Nieli is notable as the executive producer of the show. Both have a lot of input on the series, so it’s nice to hear what they have to say from time to time. Andre conducts the interview as if it were just a friendly gathering, which results in a much more open and real experience over all. Needless to say, it’s great to see these creative minds come together and geek out over the Ninja Turtles.
Next up, let’s take a look at a behind the scenes featurette discussing how the turtles were designed in Paramount’s hit film directed by Jonathan Liebesman. No matter how you feel about their design, it’s pretty cool to see what went into the making of these new iterations of the TMNT. Mike Seymour from Wired gives us a look at everything that the filmmakers did to make the turtles look as realistic as possible. With help from Industrial Light & Magic (the technical minds behind Star Wars), a lot of care and effort was put into their creation and this video will make you appreciate their designs even more than ever before. In addition, this featurette also goes into detail about just how that elevator scene came about – let’s just say it wasn’t originally planned for the movie.
Last but not least, let’s take a look at what the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would really look like if they actually behaved like teenagers. Dorkly recently released a video entitled “Teenage Teenage Teenage Turtles” which really shows us how much the TMNT don’t actually behave that much like teenagers. Suffice it to say that you’ve never seen turtles that were this emotional before. While this video isn’t exactly NSFW, it’s worth mentioning that there is some language used which might be a trigger for certain audiences and it isn’t exactly the kind of thing that every parent would want their children to watch. With that in mind, this is a very funny video that’s definitely worth checking out.

If the TMNT acted like real teenagers, The movie would’ve been R rated for Language.
