Turtle Bits: William Fichtner Joins Movie, Turtles Have A Bad Day

It’s been a crazy couple of weeks, but we’ve been having a blast learning about all of the latest news in the TMNT universe. With that in mind, let’s talk about some of the things that fell through the cracks in a segment we like to call Turtle Bits.

First off, let’s talk a bit more about the new movie being produced by Michael Bay. Being that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is currently in production, it should come as no surprise that there has been quite a lot of breaking news about the film. In an environment full of media buzz such as this, sometimes otherwise important information can fall through the cracks. Perhaps that is why the latest casting decision hasn’t quite generated a lot of attention as of yet. It would appear that William Fichtner has been brought on to the film to play a rather significant role. As Deadline put it, “Fichtner is said to be playing a lead with iconic stature in the Turtles’ mythology.” With most of the important roles already cast, this leaves only a few characters for him to play. Most of the speculation surrounding his character seems to suggest that he may actually be playing Shredder. He’s definitely a good character actor, so there’s little doubt that he’d be able to handle the role. Sadly, we do not yet have any confirmation about which character he will be playing, so for now we’ll just have to wait and see.

Now that we’ve talked some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle news, why don’t we do something different for a change? It doesn’t all have to be news, right? After all, we’ve got an entire section of the website devoted to that! Today we’re going to talk about one of the more humorous TMNT videos posted online recently. From Stan Lee’s World of Heroes comes their popular “Bad Days” series, this time featuring our much beloved heroes in a half shell. After Splinter goes a little nuts, the boys have the sewers all to themselves. When things get carried away, they’ll realize how much they miss their mentor and before you know it, everything will be back to normal. Or will it? Eagle eyed viewers may catch a funny gag poster in the background taking a jab at Michael Bay’s well known “Alien” comments.
