Turtle Bits: Fourth Season Planned for Show, Another Look at TMNT Movie Toys

There’s just no stopping our heroes in a half shell. Shortly after the initial success of Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, it was announced that they would be picking the show up for a second season. A few months later, the news broke that they would be giving the show a third season as well. If this latest rumor is true, it would appear that the series is going to be picked up once more for a fourth season. Needless to say, this is great news for the fans and for the franchise over all, as this latest animated series has almost single-handedly revitalized the Ninja Turtles.

 

Although there has been no official announcement about this particular subject, we received information from a reliable source within the industry which hinted at Nickelodeon’s plans for next year and beyond. It was clear just from this source that there were plans to continue the story, as they  hinted at a major cliffhanger at the end of the third season. Whether or not this information is entirely accurate remains to be seen, but given where it came from, I’m tempted to believe that it is true. I’m sure they won’t announce it any time soon, but the fans will be happy to know that they’ve got a lot more Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming to them.

 

As one of the most popular shows on the network, it would actually be hard to believe that Nickelodeon didn’t have any plans to renew the series. That being said, I must reiterate that this is not concrete and we cannot entirely confirm that TMNT has been renewed. We’re still in the early days of this whole process, so it’s important to understand that anything could happen and even a reliable source could end up being wrong in the end.

 

Now then, let’s get back to the present, as 2014 holds many interesting prospects for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle franchise. Perhaps the biggest and most controversial subject in the Shellhead community, the new movie from producer Michael Bay and director Jonathan Liebesman is set to hit the streets later this summer. We’ve seen pictures of the new turtle designs and even some pictures of the toy line based on the film, but we haven’t seen anything quite like this.

 

Brought to us via i09, the following images give us a closer look at the new toys based on Michael Bay’s TMNT movie. Yes, we have seen these before, but this is the first time that we’ve received close, detailed shots of both the front and the back of these action figures. Needless to say, their molds definitely look well crafted. Whether or not they are entirely accurate to the film remains to be seen, but they definitely have a lot of detail. Of course, detailed or not, it kind of looks as if Donny’s legs are about to buckle under the weight of all that cool tech gear.

TMNT LEGO Sets Reveal Details About New Movie

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Lego Set

In addition to all of the leaked pictures of Halloween costumes, toys and even supposed character designs related to the new film, a few new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Lego sets were recently revealed at the UK Toy Fair. Apparently, there are seven new Lego sets planned for the TMNT line, three of them being directly related to the new film from Paramount and Platinum Dunes. While there is box art for the four sets related to the Nickelodeon CGI Animated series, it shouldn’t be too surprising that they did not allow photographs to be taken of the movie tie-in sets. Regardless, fans who saw the toys up close and in person had some interesting details to reveal which had not yet been confirmed.

2003-Master-SplinterIf you’ve been wondering what Splinter will look like, these Lego sets reveal at least one important detail about his design – he will be gray. Of course, these probably aren’t the final designs of the toys, so they could easily change the color at some point, but assuming they don’t, this is quite an interesting concept. Originally, Master Splinter was portrayed as a brown rat in both the 1987 Animated Series and the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie series. However, the character took on a gray appearance when the 2003 series came out and he has maintained a somewhat different look ever since. If we can determine that Splinter is in fact gray in the new film, does this mean his design is based off of the later 2003 series? Ultimately, we’ll have to wait and see what happens with this, but thankfully that’s not the only important detail revealed by these three new TMNT Lego sets.

Also included in one of the sets was a minifigure of Karai, Shredder’s daughter.

"Whip It" Los Angeles PremiereFans have been wondering whether or not she would make an appearance in the new film, and this little leak may have just confirmed her role. It would appear that shortly after the news broke about Karai being in the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Lego sets, Minae Noji’s role was changed from undisclosed to Karai on IMDB. We don’t know if this change was officially made, or if a fan went in and changed it, but fans have been speculating that this might be the role she was chosen to fill since her involvement was announced. With a new TMNT Lego toy of Karai in the works, it seems pretty likely now that the character will make an appearance in Jonathan Liebesman’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.

I always knew Legos were awesome, but now that they’ve revealed vital information about the new movie, I’m loving them even more. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that the new Lego Movie featured Michelangelo as a Master Builder! By the way, if you haven’t seen that film, you totally should. Hey, there’s a Ninja Turtle in it! How could you possibly go wrong with Legos and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? If you’re curious about the new TMNT Lego sets based on Nickelodeon’s animated series, check out the box art below. Ninja Turtles 2014 Movie Poster Leaked!?

Today on Twitter, a strange image was tweeted by a Turtles fan. Check it out:

Is this connected to the new Michael Bay Ninja Turtles film, because if it is, it really rocks!   These Turtles look tough as the shells they wear on their backs and what about the toys in the image to the right of the poster display?   They SURE DO seem like they could be the new Ninja Turtles toys that we’ve heard so much about don’t they?

Certainly what we see here in this poster display is consistent with everything that we’ve just seen earlier today in the images leaked of the Ninja Turtles visual effects models.    This image is consistent also with the samurai gear on the Turtles chests that we’ve heard about.  This has got to be from the new Ninja Turtles Paramount movie!  But how is it connected?  Is it some sort of poster display to support the release of the toys?

Only time will tell Shellheads.  We here at TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles.com thinks that this imagery rocks!   If Michael Bay wanted us to get excited about the film, this is certainly one way to make that happen.  Cowabunga!

First Look At Rest Of Turtles And Shredder from Michael Bay’s Ninja Turtles

Paramount Pictures Corporation (“Paramount”) has kindly requested the removal of any unauthorized content without express written permission of Paramount.


The last several days here at TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles.com have been busy ones for us because of all the new images from the film that have been popping up.

Last week, we brought Turtles fans the first look at Michelangelo from the upcoming Michael Bay Paramount Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie via a Halloween costume image that slipped out, and the response from Turtles fans on the internet was mixed to say the least.

Then this happened:

The Turtles licensee that mistakenly let out the image of the 2014 TMNT Michelangelo Halloween asked us politely on behalf of Viacom (Paramount Studios) to remove the image of Michelangelo that you saw first here on TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles.com.    In doing so, Turtles fans were given the proof that we all wanted, which was that the image of Michelangelo was in fact directly connected to the upcoming Paramount Turtles movie which is scheduled for release into theaters in June of 2014.

Yesterday, the website ComicBookMovie.com released some amazing photos that claim to have been sourced from “someone close to the production” of the new Turtles movie.  These photos appear to have something to do with the new Turtles film in a visual effects capacity, but with these new photos, we now know exactly what The Shredder will look in the new movie, and we here at TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles.com are spinning in our shells with excitement about it.

The Shredder aka Eric Sachs (Oroku Saki), played by actor William Fichtner,  is looking quite metal! In fact, we’re having trouble discerning whether or not there is any aspect of his armor that is not covered in sharp, pointy metallic weaponry. With long, ominous claws extending from each forearm and blades protruding from his shoulders, thighs and calves, this version of The Shredder looks pretty dangerous.

The Shredder’s legs look less human than the rest of his body, as he definitely looks to be more machine than man. Will this new Shredder design echo back to some of the 80’s finest science fiction? Or will he actually transform at some point during the film from human into metal? Whatever the case may be, this is a pretty scary looking Shredder! Heck, even his cape is made of metal.

Today in breaking Turtles news…

There is no doubt that these images below directly relate themselves to the new Ninja Turtles movie, just as the Michelangelo costume from last week did.    In seeing this images of our heroes in a half shell today, Turtles fans should all have a pretty strong idea of what the new Ninja Turtles will look like when we head out to theaters in June to see the film.

Halloween Costume Reveals First Look of Michael Bay’s Ninja Turtles Movie

Overnight, as the story went viral online in the TMNT universe via social media, the licensee politely informed us that Viacom (Paramount Studios) requested for them to contact us immediately in an attempt to remove the image that we suggested yesterday could be an indication of what we’re in store for in the upcoming June 2014 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.
If we ever needed any proof that the image that you saw here first on our Turtles site yesterday was in fact, a representation of the imagery of the Turtles from the upcoming movie, we now have it!

 

Just when you thought the gossip and chatter had died down about the upcoming Michael Bay produced Ninja Turtles movie…

Holy Cowabunga!

Someone has unveiled a first look glimpse at the designs of the Turtles themselves from the upcoming live action Paramount Studios / Platinum Dunes  re-boot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie franchise. Just a few weeks ago, we were talking about some of the new toys designed for the movie coming out this summer. There weren’t any pictures of the toys, but it was still nice to just be given a sense for the new design of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Thankfully, today we can show you something that will really give you a sense for what to expect.

 

Produced by Michael Bay, and written by screenwriters Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec, and Evan Daugherty, the new Turtles movie is set for release at some point in 2014 starring Megan Fox, Will Arnett, and Whoopi Goldberg.

 

Paramount Studios has been very quiet about the new Turtles movie to date.  Fans of the Turtles haven’t yet seen so much as a teaser trailer for the upcoming film yet.  There is no idea what the Turtles in the new film will even look like either.  Will the Turtles be faithful in comparison to the characters created by Turtles creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird?  Or will Paramount be giving to us Turtles fans something in a similar look as the Turtles from the 1990’s Hollywood live action films?

 

TMNT fans have expressed great outrage and anger on the internet since the Paramount announcement of the film’s production, producer, director, and stars, and not knowing what the Turtles will look like all of this time in the aftermath of those official announcements, has given many a Turtle fan a bad taste in their mouth.

 

Then along comes the 2014 TMNT Halloween costumes.  Sent out on the internet by a costume company (by mistake), we now are able to get a first glimpse as to what our  Ninja Turtles will look like in the upcoming Jonathan Liebesman (Darkness Falls, Battle of Los Angeles) directed Turtles film.   Get ready to be surprised Turtles fans….

 

TMNT-2014-Michelangelo-Silhouette

The 2014 Turtles are a bit different from the Turtles we all fell in love with in the 1980’s.  These 2014 Turtles, have loin clothes and back packs.   Yet, these TMNT Halloween costumes with their “stuffable shells” look much more lifelike than other TMNT costumes that have since come and gone from the market.

 

If we’re to assume that these costumes are a direct reflection of the Turtles that we’ll see in the upcoming 2014 movie, then we could assume that our Turtles are cut, ripped, muscled and ready to kick some Shredder butt! Going off of this Michelangelo Turtles costume design, it’s difficult to know for certain if in fact this imagery will be reflected directly in the new Paramount Turtles movie, but it is a pretty safe bet.   We’re unveiling the Michelangelo image today, but don’t worry Turtles fans, we’ll be revealing the other Turtles shortly.

 

The coolest thing about this new Turtles look is that Paramount really seems to be taking a more authentic Samurai Warrior/ Japanese culture approach toward the Turtles and we think that is a pretty cool thing.  It would certainly be consistent in regards to original vision of Turtles creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, wouldn’t it?

 

There are some Turtles fans that have expressed outrage over a re-design of the look of our Turtles for the upcoming film, and while there are those that would argue that this isn’t a “good idea”, we happen to really like these re-designs here at TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles.com   So, what do you think?   Will these designs give the Turtles the 2014 edge in the new Paramount Turtles movie?   Or are these unacceptable in the Turtles universe?   Tell us what you think here.
