We’ve seen some pretty cool TMNT themed shoes in the past, and these are no exception. When it was announced that Dr. Martens would be joining forces with Nickelodeon to create their own line of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shoes, I wasn’t sure they would even be sold in North America, and I didn’t think they would be making any shoes for adult fans. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case, as these shoes were designed for fans of all ages and they are currently being sold to American consumers. As you can imagine, these designer shoes are fairly costly, but they are definitely worth the price you’ll be paying.
That being said, these are fairly cost prohibitive. Most people won’t be able to afford the $90-$150 price tag that comes with each pair of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shoes. They may be nice and they might even last you a while, but they’re still pretty expensive for most of us. If you have kids, chances are that you’re familiar with the nightmare of buying shoes for your children only to see them grow out of them in a few months. Imagine dealing with that headache after having paid about $100 for these shoes!

Most families probably won’t be investing in this product, but that’s to be expected. Dr. Martens is a specialty product, and while these would make for an excellent gift, they aren’t exactly practical for most audiences. When it comes to this TMNT themed footwear, you’re basically paying for two names rather than for the functionality of the shoe. Doc Martens are known for producing high quality items, but that price point is likely to produce sticker shock for a lot of Ninja Turtles fans.
With that said, can we take a moment to appreciate how awesome these Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shoes actually look? Their design is clearly based on the original animated series from 1987, and that appears to have been a wise choice. My personal favorite design is the Raphael boot, which features a paint job that looks like green ooze dripping down the sides. What about you?
