Every now and then we like to feature a few totally radical Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles videos on the site in a series we call Turtley Awesome Videos. It’s once again time to explore the depths of the TMNT fandom to find some interesting and unexpected treasures. This time around, we’ve found several oddities that are quite entertaining, including a fan produced animated tale and a sock puppet video from Nickelodeon themselves. Raph Likes The Beastie Boys
Meet Futureman. He’s dressed up like a Ninja Turtle and performing the song Intergalactic by The Beastie Boys. If this all sounds confusing, allow me to provide further explanation. Futureman Gaming is a channel on Twitch.tv.
This guy plays video games for large audiences several days a week and even works with the Twitch staff to produce awesome content. In this video, he’s performing one of his favorite songs for donations to a worthy charity. Yes, there actually is a reason that this exists, and it did actually benefit people in need.
TMNT Sock Puppets Take on Pizza
A few months ago, Nickelodeon decided to release their very own fan-style Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles video. This time around, they went with a sock puppet theater sketch featuring Master Splinter along with all four turtles and an evil pizza.
This Ninja Turtles video is absolutely hilarious, and the voices are actually provided by the actors who portray each character in Nick’s TMNT series. You’ll probably enjoy this vid if you’ve been getting a kick out of the latest iteration of the Ninja Turtles. Stick around for the ending to see how they chose to represent the Shredder himself!
Donnie Becomes a Monster
Talk about a true fan project! This animated feature was crafted by a fan of Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, using the basic design and characterization of each turtle as a basis for the story. Even the tale itself feels like something you would see in an episode of the animated series, hearkening back to when Donnie got turned into a Hot Rod.
I don’t want to give too much away, but suffice it to say that this is an excellent work of fanfiction that deserves your attention. Make sure to watch both the first and second parts in order to get as much of the story as possible. I don’t know about you, but I certainly hope that this creator continues to work on this Monster series!
