NECA Toys announces First SDCC 2019 Exclusive

In keeping with the tradition of World Turtle Day, NECA Toys has once again announced their San Diego Comic Con TMNT exclusive.

And, oh man, it’s a good one.

From NECA Toys-

After wading in a puddle of radioactive waste, four ordinary reptiles become more than just turtles, and are raised by the similarly transformed rat Splinter to become New York City’s greatest crime-fighting quartet. Their biggest enemy—and Splinter’s nemesis—is The Shredder, ruthless leader of the Foot Clan, a criminal organization that’s terrorizing the city. Yet is only after Splinter is captured by the Foot that the Turtles learn how far back his feud with Shredder goes…

This epic box set recreates the “Capture of Splinter” scene from the 1990 movie in 7” scale, all the way down to the in-box positioning! The set includes Splinter (with cloth robe), Shredder (with cloth cape), and two Foot soldiers, plus plenty of extras: manacles, a cardstock crate, and a weapons rack for storing all the Foot clan accessories.

Looks like another hit from NECA! I love Master Splinter in these. They even nailed his robe! NECA puts out quality toys, and this set is a welcome addition to last year’s set, or any TMNT collection.

New York Toy Fair 2019: NECA Toys

NECA Toys has been one of the top toy brands to carry the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle License. Their TMNT figures consistently sell out with every convention exclusive, and their quarter scale figures based on the 90’s movie have put NECA at the top of every collector’s “must-have” list. With giant reveals in the past, I was excited to see what they had up their sleeve for this year’s Toy Fair. Let’s take a look.

Bebop and Rocksteady 7inch Figures

This was a huge reveal that had the convention talking. These figures were on display with no release or details, but I hear we they might be part of another wave of Fred Wolf based figures. As soon we we know more information, we’ll post.

Target Exclusive 2-Packs

These have been rumored, and now confirmed. These two-packs based on the original cartoon are coming exclusively to Target soon! Really soon. By the end or March soon. Keep checking the NECA section at your local Target. Be sure to pick them up so we can keep getting more awesome figures! Each pack comes with 2 figures.

The Foot Soldier is shipping to retailers March 18, and Shredder sometime in the spring. The Foot Soldier is impressive, but this Shredder is a piece of art. The detail in the face and clothing is outstanding. It’s a level of detail that can only be done by people who love these characters and want to see them done right. The mask is removable on the Shredder to reveal his Splinter given scar. Shredder’s cape is worth whatever price they want to charge. There’s a chance this one could come to a smaller scale down the line, but don’t wait on this one.

A variation on their TMNT specific diorama that was on sale during SDCC last year, this city is great for showing off any TMNT figures, or any figures, who need a city backdrop. No release date was given, but this is a great piece for anyone looking for something a bit different than their Ikea Detolf.

These head knockers are great bobble heads for the collector with a smaller budget. These are high quality figures based on the original cartoon.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is only one of the licenses NECA has access to. They have a fantastic lines from Godzilla, Terminator, Alien, and a TON of horror. The Guillermo del Toro line is a perfect fit for the company and I’m excited to see where that goes as well.

SYFY Exclusive- Behind the Scenes of Making NECA’s TMNT toys

SyFy has posted an exclusive look in to NECA studios and what it took to bring the 1990’s movie version of the turtles to life.

In the exclusive article, we get a look at what it takes to bring this version of the turtles from our memories to our toy shelves! The pictures are great and it’s a must read for anyone interested in TMNT, toy design, or anyone who likes hearing stories about making things.

As a bonus, as you flip through the pictures, we get a look at upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures based on the Foot Clan and Shredder.

NECA TMNT Figures soon available at Gamestop

NECA will soon release Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures based on the 1990’s film as Gamestop exclusives.

These figures were previously available as a San Diego Comic Con exclusive and only sold as a set of 4. Coming this February, you can buy each turtle on their own for $22.99.

You can pre-order yours now at Gamestop. They still include each turtle’s weapon, but does not include additional accessories like pizza or sewer lids like the SDCC exclusives.

This is a great opportunity for anyone who missed out on the full set! Will you be picking up these from Gamestop? Let us know in the comments!

NECA Toys show off upcoming releases at SDCC 2018

San Diego Comic-Con is over.

It’s sad, but there’s a lot news to tie us over! Anyone in attendance this year who passed the NECA Toys booth got a glimpse at their upcoming Teenage Mutant Nina Turtle figures.

First up, this awesome 1/4 Scale Foot Clan Soldier based on the 1990 movie.

This is a must have for anyone who’s collected the previous figures in their line based on the 1990 film.

Next, they also displayed 4 figures based on their line based on the “Turtles in Time” game!

I absolutely love these figures. I haven’t seen any release date posted, but I’m hoping for an NYCC 2018 exclusive!

NECA Toys put out, arguably, the single most sought after exclusive collectible at San Diego Comic-Con this year. When they show off something, it’s time to pay attention. Hopefully, we’ll get a glimpse at the upcoming Shredder based on the 1990 movie soon!
