Out of the Shadows Nominated for Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards

In a move that likely won’t surprise anyone, Nickelodeon has seen fit to nominate Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows for several Kid’s Choice Awards. Considering that they were behind the production of this film, their decisions on this matter are definitely questionable. To be fair, this award show isn’t very significant, and this wouldn’t be the first time that someone pointed out inconsistencies in the nominations. Honestly, the KCA’s are mostly meant as entertainment for children, but something tells me that the fans will still be questioning some of these choices.

Here are the nominations for Paramount’s latest TMNT movie:

  • Favorite Movie: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows
  • Favorite Movie Actor: Will Arnett
  • Favorite Movie Actress: Megan Fox
  • #Squad: Noel Fisher, Jeremy Howard, Pete Ploszek, Alan Ritchson

As a fan of the film, I can totally understand and appreciate at least three of these nominations. However, I’m sure that a lot of shellheads will question the wisdom of nominating Megan Fox for this award – as meaningless as it may be. Nominating the actors who portrayed the turtles makes perfect sense, and Out of the Shadows itself is definitely deserving of an award for “Favorite Movie.” Even if it didn’t do very well in theaters, it was pretty well received by many fans of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – some who now consider this their favorite TMNT film.

In addition to these four nominations, Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series also received a nomination for “Favorite Cartoon.” I doubt anyone would have a problem with that decision, as most fans agree that this is one of the greatest interpretations of our heroes in a half shell that has ever hit the small screen. Again, these are just Kid’s Choice Awards, but it’s nice to see the turtles getting some love after recently being nominated for two Razzies – even if that love is coming from the same people who own the rights to the franchise.

The 2017 Kid’s Choice Awards will be held on March 11th.

New TMNT 2 Clip Reveals Party Van Features

It sure has been a lot easier to find information about this Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie than it was to discover anything about the first film. Heck, the studios are literally throwing trailers at us, and they all look pretty darn good. This time around, Paramount released something a little more significant than just a trailer, as they revealed a new TMNT 2 clip from Out of the Shadows during the Kid’s Choice Awards. Once you get past the live action choreography featuring Casey Jones taking down a few baddies, the video starts and we finally get a better look at their new Party Van!

We’ve definitely seen a few shots from this scene in previous trailers, but now we’re getting a better look at the battle that follows in this TMNT 2 clip. The first thing that fans will note is the horn from the Party Van blasting the theme from the original animated series. This is an awesome little reference to the origins of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, so I’m sure that long time fans will appreciate the nod. Following this event, we get to see the van pull off a truly ridiculous move, as a pair of robotic arms begin to swing nunchaku and take out a few enemy vehicles. Personally, I’m very hopeful that this is an actual feature on the toy, because that would be amazing.

Finally, Raphael jumps out of the moving van and bowls into the enemies, eventually taking one of their bikes and using it to ride back up and into the van again. Needless to say, this was a pretty cool move, and it’s definitely the kind of thing we would expect from Raph. If you weren’t sure about whether or not they got the feel of the turtles right in this movie, I think this clip should lay those fears to rest. Not only were they joking around a lot, but the kind of weapons and methods they were using in order to take out their enemies were also absolutely brilliant.

I don’t know about you, but I am now very excited to see this movie. Thankfully, we won’t have to wait much longer to check out Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, as the movie is slated for release on June 3rd. In just a few short months, we’ll all be gathering together in the theaters to pig out on popcorn and watch some turtley awesome action! What do you think?
