TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES SET FOR BIG SCREEN REBOOT

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES REBOOT COMING

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are set to head to the big screen once again.

As exclusively reported by Deadline, the film is set for a CGI reboot. Nickelodeon is partnering with  Point Grey Pictures’ Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver producing.

This has also seemingly been confirmed by the official TMNT twitter account.

This marks the first CGI film of the TMNT since the 2007 film “TMNT”, and the first feature film under the Nickelodeon banner.

No other details are known at this time, but we can make some estimated guesses. What do you think this means? Are you excited for what this means for the franchise? Will you see this opening night? Let us know in the comments!

“Batman vs the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” Easter Eggs

Now that everyone has had time to check out the new movie Batman vs the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, lets talk about the Easter Eggs!

There were a ton! The end credits alone is full of them! So let’s dive in and check out a few notable secrets and Easter Eggs found in the movie.

-In the early fight scene when the turtles fight behind a screen of smoke, Michelangelo’s bandana looks yellow more than orange. This could be a nod to the arcade cabinet where Mikey’s bandana was the same color.

-“News 52” a reference to DC Comics New 52.

-The T-Rex and Penny in Batman’s Batcave have been staples of Batman’s interior decorating. The T-Rex is a mechanical dinosaur, from Batman #10. The penny is a momento from his battle with “The Penny Plunderer.”

-The turtles appear and the manhole explodes in to the sky. This happens in every animated version of the turtles.

-Batman drinks from a Superman mug.

-A henchman has a “No Batman” tattoo

-One henchman looks like Kraang (and his mechanical body)

-The turtles are shown in the sewer in the same poses as the 1990 movie poster.

-Mikey says they are “Not Aliens.” This is a reference to when Michael Bay claimed he would make the turtles aliens in his movie. The fans revolted. They are not aliens.

-The turtles form on the roof in a similar pose to Mirage Comic’s “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” #1

-The Soundtrack is very reminiscent of the 1990 Ninja Turtle movie at times.

-TCRI canister

-Past Batman outfits can be seen in the Batcave. From right to Left…

  • Classic Blue-Grey color scheme. Possible Neal Adams nod.
  • Adam West Batman
  • Batman 90’s (this one could have been a few things.)
  • The red outfit is the original Bob Kane concept art (before Bill Finger took over).
  • Batman 1st appearance

-Is there a MidiEvel sticker on Michaelangelo’s skateboard?

-Pink Floyd reference

-Turtle Calendar set to “April”

-The top of the device Shredder and Ra’s want looks like the eye of the Technodrome.

-Bane tries breaking Donatello like when he broke Batman’s back.

-Raphael’s bike looks like Metalhead.

-A Foot Soldier gets thrown towards the screen like in the Arcade games.

Possibly the biggest secret of all is revealed in this move as well… Batman folds his pizza. Woah.

 

The end credits were amazing!

It was just an onslaught of comic heroes crossing over to the most famous covers of their new counterpart. The Ninja Turtles and Batman were placed seamlessly onto each others pages. With a little research, we were able to place every comic referenced in the end credits of the movie. These are listed in order they appear.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Batman team up in Animated movie

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Batman!

When Batman and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shared the pages in their crossover comic series, we thought it couldn’t get batter. Now, announced via SYFY Wire, we can expect a new full length animated feature starring the heroes.

It looks to be set in the Batman universe, with the turtles teaming up t take down Batman’s rogues gallery. It doesn’t look to be set in any established show universe. The TMNT have original designs created for this film, and this version of Batman doesn’t appear to be based on any existing animated version. It does have the grey/blue color scheme. The designs remind me of a Mike Mignola character, but I doubt that’s who did the art.

And the voice cast has an incredible mix of live action performers and voice acting veterans.


The film’s voice cast features Troy Baker (The Last of Us, Batman: Arkham Origins) as both Batman and The Joker (making him the first actor to ever take on both roles in one project), Darren Criss (the Emmy winning star of The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story) as Raphael, Kyle Mooney (Saturday Night Live) as Michelangelo, Baron Vaughn (Grace and Frankie) as Donatello, Eric Bauza (The Woody Woodpecker Show) as Leonardo, Rachel Bloom (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) as Batgirl, Tom Kenny (Spongebob Squarepants) as The Penguin, John DiMaggio (Adventure Time) as Mr. Freeze, Tara Strong (The Powerpuff Girls) as both Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, Carlos Alazraqui (Reno 911!) as Bane, and Cas Anvar (The Expanse) as Ra’s al Ghul.

TMNT Movie Begins Production Soon

The producers of “A Quiet Place” movie were at the Critics Choice awards last night. Variety was on hand for an interview and, while on the carpet, they dropped a few bits of news about their upcoming “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” reboot.

Although it’s a very short clip, they drop a ton of information. First, it sounds like a complete reboot! With Michael Bay still on board as a producer, some were wondering if this would be a sequel to “Out of the Shadows,” but with them using the word “reboot,” it seems pretty clear we’re in for new turtles.

Next, production is set to being by the end of the year. That’s great news! Could we see the movie in theaters by the year end, or will we have to wait until 2020?

Finally, while no cast or directors have been announced, one producer kept saying “It’s about family. The Turtles are about family.” Maybe this means the story ill be a bit more intimate and focus on the brothers relationship. Or, it could just be a soundbite.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 90’s Film Soundtrack coming to Vinyl

The release of NECA’s figures based on the 1990 TMNT film have proven that people are still clamoring for merchandise based on the hit indie classic.

Thanks to Waxwork Records, the classic Jon DuPrez film score will soon be released in full for the first time ever! Consisting of 24 tracks, the double LP has 8 different colorways each based on a different character, including each turtle, Casey, April, and the Foot. the release.

I record also features 3 alternate tracks. These are the versions that played on the original version of the soundtrack, but different versions played on the film. Pressed on 180 gram vinyl and featuring new, original artwork by Kevin Eastman, this is a must have for most turtle collectors.

Suggested retail is $40. Make sure to check out Waxworks Records social media to see an exact time, but it looks like it’s being released THIS FRIDAY! Check out the a couple color variants below, as well as a few sample songs, and track listing!
