It hasn’t even been a full day since the teaser for the first TMNT 2 trailer was released, and someone already released the full length trailer. What can I say? Shellheads aren’t typically the patient type. Speaking of which, who wants to see the new full length Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 trailer? You’re already watching it, aren’t you? Yeah, I kind of figured as much.
Sharp eyed fans will note a few particularly interesting aspects about the trailer. First of all, it would appear that the title for the film will indeed be Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. As we noted the other day, this is an odd choice for a title, because it has already been used for a TMNT game. It wasn’t a bad title for a video game, so I guess it’ll work just fine for the movie as well.
In addition to that interesting choice, did anyone else notice that there appeared to be some sort of unidentified flying objects (dare I say “alien” space craft) floating around? No, this doesn’t mean that the Ninja Turtles are now aliens, it just means that something foreign is flying over the city. For all we know, these flying vehicles could be the Krang making their way into our dimension! Heck, it was rumored that Krang would make an appearance in this film, and if this part of the trailer is any indication, that rumor may hold true.
As if the Krang weren’t good enough, we also get our first good look at Baxter Stockman, Rocksteady, Bebop and Casey Jones. All four look excellent, and the banter between the turtles and their foes works quite well. Unfortunately, the Ninja Turtles still look the same as they did in the first movie, and I know plenty of fans will be unhappy with this. Thankfully, they did do an excellent job with the design of every new main character, so hopefully everyone will give it a chance.
The general consensus I have heard from fans is that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows genuinely looks like an improvement over the first movie. What do you think? Should they have spent more time working on the design of the TMNT? Are you excited to check out the sequel in 2016? Let us know in the comments below!
