I know what you’re saying: what does this have to do with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? As many of you probably know, Rob Paulsen has played a significant role in the history of TMNT cartoons. Despite providing both Raphael and Donatello with a voice, most people know Paulsen for his work on another animated show – Animaniacs. On this series, Rob gave a voice to both Yakko Warner and Pinky the lab rat.
Now that Hulu has announced the revival of this series, some fans are wondering whether or not Rob Paulsen will reprise his role. Although he hasn’t announced anything as of yet, he does seem genuinely excited about the renewal on his twitter account. As a matter of fact, Paulsen shared a rather humorous tweet from his friend Maurice LaMarche (who played the Brain in Pinky and the Brain) reading about the new Animaniacs reboot in the voice of Orson Welles.
And now, here to read today’s dramatic announcement in @THR on the return of #Animaniacs, is Mr. Orson Welles… pic.twitter.com/1VMHGzhDlD

Considering that Paulsen recently worked on a show called Animaniacs Live, we know that he’s still more than capable of performing his old roles on the cartoon. Over the last few years, he has reconnected with many of his fellow co-workers on the series, bringing them onto his podcastand other projects as well. A lot of the voice actors who made Animaniacs so successful are still capable of performing their old roles today, so you have to wonder whether or not they will make a return for this revival.
Unfortunately, neither Hulu or Amblin have announced who will be working on the next two seasons of Animaniacs. That being said, I feel like these tweets from Rob Paulsen and Maurice LaMarche are a bit of a teaser. Why would they put so much effort into announcing this big news if they weren’t involved somehow? For all we know, it was Rob’s work on Animaniacs Live that convinced Hulu to pick the series up.
We’ll be learning more about this awesome reboot in the next few months, and something tells me that Rob’s name will be popping up quite frequently. Sadly, we can’t confirm as of yet that he has had any involvement with the Animaniacs revival. It is my personal opinion that there is no way they would do this show without him, but we’ll just have to wait and see what actually happens. Until then, I think I speak for most of my fellow shellheads when saying that I can’t wait to see some new Animaniacs episodes!
