NECA Toys show off upcoming releases at SDCC 2018

San Diego Comic-Con is over.

It’s sad, but there’s a lot news to tie us over! Anyone in attendance this year who passed the NECA Toys booth got a glimpse at their upcoming Teenage Mutant Nina Turtle figures.

First up, this awesome 1/4 Scale Foot Clan Soldier based on the 1990 movie.

This is a must have for anyone who’s collected the previous figures in their line based on the 1990 film.

Next, they also displayed 4 figures based on their line based on the “Turtles in Time” game!

I absolutely love these figures. I haven’t seen any release date posted, but I’m hoping for an NYCC 2018 exclusive!

NECA Toys put out, arguably, the single most sought after exclusive collectible at San Diego Comic-Con this year. When they show off something, it’s time to pay attention. Hopefully, we’ll get a glimpse at the upcoming Shredder based on the 1990 movie soon!

NECA Unveils their 2018 Convention Exclusives

NECA has announced all of their convention exclusives.

Today, NECA announced all of their convention exclusives, as well as information for an online pre-sale.  Check out these TMNT figures and display set!

To top our most recent TMNT convention exclusive, we created one of our most requested items of all time – an epic box set of 7” scale action figures from the original 1990 movie! This incredible, convention-exclusive set includes Donatello, Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Raphael, plus tons of accessories, all in display-worthy packaging that replicates the movie’s original VHS release box. Figures stand in 7” scale and are fully articulated.

They may have topped all previous years exclusives. They’ve taken their, now very hard to find, 1/4th scale figures from the 1990 film and shrunk them down to 6.5″. On top of that, they showed off a gigantic display decked out in TMNT details that fits around 30 figures! They’re selling it as a bundle with the 4 TMNT figures to get you started.

NECA Dropping hints on World Turtle Day!

Happy World Turtle Day everyone!

There have been some great celebrations all over social media, but the most interesting comes from NECA’s official instagram account. They’ve been dropping hints all day, starting with this closeup posted yesterday on #TurtleTuesday.

Channel 3 WTRL. This is April’s news station in the 1990 movie. Sure looks like something April O’Neil could be in the works!

Then, they posted this one this morning.

Maybe it’s a new diorama to show off your figures? Maybe they’re just messing with everyone. That’s what I thought, at least. Until this photo was released.

At first glance, that’s a giant VHS tape. At second glance, I don’t think I see a VHS player.  I knew something else looked off, but thanks to Toyark, we can see the front of the box says “The Figures” instead of “The Movie.” You can also almost make out 2 of the figures on the side of the box. One looks like Donatello’s with his arm hanging out of the truck he and Casey work on, but it’s hard to tell.

These are likely to be 7 inch scale figures, and will probably be exclusive to SDCC or NYCC to not compete with the Playmates exclusive licensing deals. But by the looks of things, these will be a great collectors item for anyone able to get their hands on a set!
