One of the biggest announcements to come out of SDCC 2016 was the planned Batman/TMNT Adventures comic series. After the success of the first Batman/TMNT crossover, it only made sense to keep these crime fighters together for a bit longer.

Early artwork promised a style that was similar to Batman: The Animated Series, with a logo that was reminiscent of The Adventures of Batman & Robin. Although there wasn’t much information available about the project during Comic-con, we’re glad to announce that they’ve finally begun to share a few details about this next DC/IDW collaboration.

Thanks to an exclusive reveal on CBR, we now know what some of the variant covers for Batman/TMNT Adventures will look like. CBR was also given a few details about the plot which provide hints about the direction that this comic series will probably take. The description provided by IDW is very limited, but it does provide a few clues about what we can expect from the crossover:

“When villains start to mysteriously escape Arkham, Batman seeks to track them down. What happens when he discovers that they have left Gotham completely… and entered the TMNT’s New York City?”

As you can see, it would appear that the turtles will be joining forces with Batman to stop some of the most infamous criminals in Gotham! Hey, if anyone can help the caped crusader take down evil in New York City, it’s definitely the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

So far, this project is shaping up very nicely, and the cover art is also looking quite awesome. Much like the first Batman/TMNT comic series, it would appear that Batman/TMNT Adventures will also have a bunch of exclusive cover art variants designed for various retailers and comic book shops.

The first issue is due for release on November 9th, 2016. You can expect to pay $3.99 for each issue in the series, with a total of six issues planned for the entire story. As with the first crossover, it is likely that Batman/TMNT Adventures will also be sold in trade paperback, but you won’t see that until sometime next year at the earliest.

Will you be picking up Batman/TMNT Adventures as each issue is released? Are you interested in picking up any of these cover variants? Let us know your thoughts and opinions either in the comments below or on facebook/twitter.

Well, it looks like Batman’s villains are going to realize that messing with four humanoid turtles with vast amounts of martial arts skills, as well as their master, is not a good idea, and ditto for said villains entering into New York City. However, with that being said, The Joker would do well not to get on Shredder’s bad side.
