First Images of Out of the Shadows Toy Hits the Web
The winter is always an exciting time of year, because it’s typically the time when toy companies around the world start to unveil their plans for the next year. Last year’s Toy Fair brought some pretty awesome revelations, and we can’t wait to see what comes of this year’s events in February. When we say we can’t wait, we mean it – which is why we’re pleased to bring you an early image of at least one toy that will likely be hitting store shelves later in 2016. I’m sure most fans saw this one coming, but here it is anyway: a Party Van that shoots manhole covers.
If you’re an older fan, chances are that you remember having a toy similar to this when you were a kid. Well, that was probably the inspiration for the scene in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, which itself then inspired this toy. In comparison to some of the strangely designed action figures that were released in conjunction with the first movie, this Party Van toy looks much more interesting. With the “Tartauga Brothers” name printed on the side, this looks almost exactly like the vehicle we see in the first official trailer for the movie.
Okay, so it’s not called the “Party Van” here, it’s actually called the “Turtle Tactical Truck.” In reality, this looks to be based on the design of a dump truck, but we won’t know how accurate that is until the movie comes out. One thing is for sure: there’s a lot of fun to be had with this awesome TMNT toy! Yes, it shoots manhole covers, but it also has weapons for Raphael and Michelangelo as well. Maybe it’s not exactly like the van we all love and remember from the original animated series, but it’s still pretty impressive.
