Although we might have to wait a while for a new official TMNT game to come out, that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy some shellraising action right now. If you’ve ever wanted to hop on a skateboard as one of your favorite Ninja Turtles, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 just answered your prayers. In the latest update for the game, they added a slew of new characters including all four of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Now you can perform awesome tricks on the half-pipe with your favorite half-shell heroes!
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 is the latest game in a franchise that is now 15 years old. The Tony Hawk games have always included special characters, so it’s not surprising to see them add a few new names to the list. That being said, this radical addition might come as a shock to TMNT fans who were not expecting the fan service. Even if you don’t typically enjoy skateboarding games like these, I’m sure this addition will be very tempting for a lot of shellheads. It may not be an officially licensed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game, but this little update could still be a lot of fun.
After the game was originally released with a lot of glaring bugs and glitches, fans of the Tony Hawk franchise were absolutely livid. However, since its notoriously buggy release, patches have been provided which fix most of the problems and add a lot of value to the title. This latest patch adds more than just turtles, as it appears to also revamp the graphics in a lot of important ways. Needless to say, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 is starting to look like a much better value. Heck, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles even come with their own special moves like the “Pizza Guy Grab.”
The only problem with this patch is its size; clocking in at just under 8 GB, this update is roughly the same scale as an entire modern video game. At that size, it’ll probably take a while to download and install, but that’s a minor price to pay for a much improved video game.
What do you think? Will this update be cool enough to get people playing the latest Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
