This week we’ve got quite the update for all you turtle fans out there. The past few months have seen several new TMNT products revealed, some positively received by fans and others met with speculation and doubt. Today, we’ve got some awesome news about two of these products that is sure to pique your interest.
As for the next announcement, some of you may not like what you’re about to see. TMNT fans typically don’t like change and Activision’s new game sure offers a lot of that. Last month, we reported that Activision Blizzard had won the rights to create at least three different games over the course of the next few years. At the time of that press release, they let it slip that the first game they had planned for the turtles would be coming out some time this summer. With that short of a time frame, it makes perfect sense that the title has been revealed to be a downloadable game available on services such as PSN and Xbox Live. That being said, I don’t think anyone really expected the design changes that you’re about to see in this announcement trailer.
TMNT: Out of the Shadows is set for release sometime this summer, and in terms of gameplay, it actually looks pretty solid. We won’t know how good the game actually plays until it is released, but a close look will reveal that they’ve chosen quite a different look for everyone’s favorite heroes in a half shell. Oddly enough, Activision has chosen to make the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles look a little more realistic, despite the fact that the game is supposedly connected to the hot new show on Nickelodeon. It’s a curious choice for sure, but as long as the game is solid, I won’t mind the change. What do you think? Watch the official trailer and let us know what you think in the comments below.
